There are several rude and unprofessional instructors here.
Overall a good experience. Despite my appt, I still had to wait 30 minutes to be seen. The employees were pleasant and helpful. Convenient location.
While renewing dl is ok, getting a new license plate is a nightmare. They make you stay in lines for hours.and would be helpful if workers had fewer brakes
Confusing with just entering. Signage is awful for customers with appointments. The agent working the non appointment line appeared to be confused and unprepared. Long.li3bfor photos. Should have been better staffed.
Don’t trust any of the good reviews here, avoid. Incompetent line operator, extremely unhelpful workers inside, if you want to get berated for asking questions for clarification, make sure you come here. If you want non-answers to your questions, if you want them to act like they’re holier than thou, talk to you like you aren’t worth their time regardless of situation, if you want someone to act like their life is perfect and their job is not to serve the customer / community and act like you’re below them, and if you don’t want any help, come here and wait forever!
This is the worst dmv I've ever been to. It's a absolute nightmare. I Have to wait in endless lines even with an appointment. Filled out the application online and had to redo it because they never sent me a confirmation code. I might just leave and go to a different dmv since I'm not making any progress here.
Questions are so different on the DMV screen than on DMV app! Also some answers are wrong on the screen in office, but on the DMV app they are marked as right! Russian translation is very wrong they need to translate that again! I speak fluent Russian but I wasn’t able to understand the translation sometimes!
This is my second ever time having to write a review. My first was Daly City DMV because of how much of your time that they waste. San Mateo DMV is no different. I was waiting to get my DL replaced for 2 hours in line at the front door under the blazing sun and 1 hour inside for my number to get skipped. I told 2 workers that my number got skipped and they led me back in line at the front door. It seems as if you're a worker at the DMV, you're depressed and your time is much more valuable than your client. I wish I was paid to waste everyone's day.
1star the building was there dmv not important to city? People not qualified to work there you dont want to put out any money for real people revamp system it not working now get real
Lady in the driver license test area is super Ruth and disrespectful. She should not work here if she doesn’t have patience with people.
They treat people like they’re nothing. Worst experience ever. They need to take manner classes to work in this place. Why do they hire people to work with that attitude. We want to feel comfortable to come up and ask questions if needed with out being afraid.
Please train your employees to be respectful and polite to others.
Doing my license testing online as well as making an appointment is the only way to go. The line for non appointments was very long. I only waited 20 minutes from my appointment time to get served. The worst part was when I entered it was not clear where to go. Only seeing a small 8.5x11 piece of paper that said to go outside on the Idaho side to begin alerted me where to begin. I received a text message about my waiting number. It matched the number given to me on the paper.

I said I couldn't express myself well in English and then a fat employee used expressions like you have to know English I didn't go above or below 25 and the employee told me I went with 15 I never went with 15 and he made my exam invalid
