Sand Canyon Urgent Care

Please stay away from this Urgent Care—don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Had a horrible experience from this Urgent Care. I went in for UTI. Long wait even though I was the only one in the waiting room. The front desk was very warm and nice. When I was finally seen by Dr. Ridder, he barely looked or listened to me. He sent me back to get a urine sample because apparently they had forgotten. I had to wait for Dr. Ridder again to finish with another patient. I finally was able to sit down with the Dr. Ridder and I told him my concerns. He didn’t ask any questions, he prescribed me an antibiotic without warning me about sun exposure and rashes. Luckily I wasn’t exposed to the sun. He was also very unprofessional—talking about work drama in the office.
The next day, I had a horrible headache, chills and some fatigue. Thinking that I was having a drug reaction, I called the clinic and was able to speak to Dr. Ridder. He told me that I have to go back to the clinic because the infection might have gotten to my bloodstream. Please also note that I came in day one of my UTI and i wasn’t having any back pains. I was alarmed but I am glad I DIDN’T GO BACK to that clinic.
Long story short. I went to a different urgent care and the doctor actually listened to my concerns. He prescribed me a different antibiotic and I felt better the next day.

Update: Turned out I was allergic to the first antibiotic and it wasn't because the infection got to my bloodstream

I went here to be tested for strep and have already referred 2 friends who live in the area. The office is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. I felt taken comfortable and taken care of. Highly recommend this practice! Can easily park on the street for free or in the lot.

This is and has been my go to place for years. Dr. Ritter is one of the finest doctors my husband and I have ever been treated by. From a jellyfish sting to a bronchial infection his treatment was always spot on. There’s no one better!

Not recommend, I was there for pelvic exam and the doctor burned my skin leg 4 times during examination with the cheap examination light and I told him you are burning my leg and he only said oh sorry that was the light and that happened 4TIMES, unbelievable I still have the burning marks on my leg. And also the medication he gave me didn’t work and I called them today to get refill or send me any other medication for my issue and the lady on the phone said we can’t see you twice for the same reason! What if you did not treat my problem?
I even gave them 2 out of 10 feedback and nobody called and asked for that. Worse service

Very positive experience at this urgent care clinic, and vastly superior to any other urgent care clinic I have visited in the area. Alexa and Dulce were helpful and professional and the doctor took his time, gave me good information about my injury and genuinely seemed to care for my well being both near and long term. Happy I chose this clinic!
