Santa Barbara Zoo reviews
36Beautiful zoo. There was an area where you could buy and make your own smores that was pretty cool. The train ride was also awesome. Pretty quick but with the trip. Lots of beautiful animals
It was good here but we couldn’t feed the giraffes because we got there at the end of a feeding time session ending: (
There is an absolute failure to organize this zoo in a manner that guests can know how to walk it & see everything without a ton of duplicate steps and unnecessary confusion! No brochure or maps are provided, but the plant life & views are terrific!
Santa Barbara Zoo is the best. We love visiting cause it never gets old. The kids love it, it’s a beautiful place to walk and the food and drink options make for a great place to have dinner with the family and relax.
Santa barbara zoo is really small. But I love the large landscape where children can play and family can chill. There's alot of construction going on some some exhibits are close. Which is good is someway cause there making the zoo better in the future. The food was excellent which I was surprised. Very pricey but worth it. We definitely want to come back was construction is over and more things open.
Neat little zoo with a cool condor exhibit. We saw them fly and it was quite a sight. They have a train that goes around the whole zoo. Make sure you feed the giraffe! Fun!
This place is AMAZING. My cousins loved it and fell asleep so fast. They have amazing animals. U can also buy tickets to ride a train and buy a ticket to feed the giraffes
I love how intimate this Zoo is. It's small but offers a lot. You get the feeling your in nature when you walk down the cute paths and look up to see the mountains and at some points even the ocean. You can pet and feed the giraffe's. I recommend doing that. They have several fun events through out the year as well. I can't wait to check them out. The animals seem happy and well taken care of here. There are alot of cute spots for picnics as well.
We love the SB zoo. You can bring in you own food and have a picnic or order Rusty's pizza. Zoo camp is fabulous especially during winter breaks. Also don't forget to take the train
One of my favorite places, young or old. The zoo is small enough to see a variety of animals without having to traipse miles. Have been coming here for 19 years, its peaceful, nice location, & handicap placards park free. Friendly staff too. Good for wee ones in a stroller or just walking.
Excellent zoo, various animals- on the coast, perfect size. Weather is typically great when we visit, train rides for the kids, feed the giraffes, stay for the dinosaur show. Always a pleasant time
Loved the zoo! It's smaller than other zoos I've been to, but it's well kept & maintained, clean, and the enclosures are nicer, allowing visitors to be closer to the animals or at least see them better. It's a much more intimate environment than the bigger zoos. I will be returning one day, hopefully soon.
Had a great day at the Zoo in Santa Barbara. We went to this location compared to the L. A. Zoo based off the area it's in. Easy to get to, parking wasn't expensive, and it was by the beach. The zoo itself was in great order. The various animals were a sight to see. My toddler loved it, his favorites were the giraffes and snakes.
I was disappointed with the enclosure size for some of the animals. The elephants hardly had any room to roam around in however the zoo itself has vast amounts of wide open grass areas for patrons to hang out in. What's more important?
Great zoo. Definitely on the smaller side. If making a trip, you can easily see everything in a half a day. Recommend the train ride.
Great place to take the family, there are wheelchair rentals for a good price! There are a lot of steep hills so if you have arthritis rent a wheelchair. Lots of places to get cute suviniors for kids and adults
Very small zoo, but I generally like those more! Less people to block your view, and the bonus opportunities like animal feedings are cheaper. This zoo had some animals that not all zoos have, like Koalas and they were awake when we visited! I would definitely recommend this zoo to anyone visiting Santa Barbara.
Very sad to see how small these cages are, especially for the larger animals. They're a small zoo. Everything is over priced as usual. I didn't mind that part so much as you get to see everything without wearing yourself out! The staff was great. Just wish the animals had bigger habitats.l
I love the size of this zoo and all the amazing exhibits. It's beyond a normal zoo. The train is a family favorite. The staff are darling people. Every time you go, precious memories are made.
I love this zoo. It's a ton of fun and cole by the pier and state street (downtown Santa Barbara). Very fun for a small zoo. I would give it 10 stars if they had them!
