Fun fact; JD’s pits are so well fabricated they’ve been used and featured on the hit television show Master Chef.

I have been following them for years. As well as many other builders for SMGs. Something about the design, the price, the value really drew me towards them. And last year I finally pulled the trigger and got a 24x48 carbon steel drop in Santa Maria grill. Love at first sight though it’s a little smoky without the charcoal grate so I totally recommend splurging on that! I love my grill. It looks great and has held up great next to our pool. No rust at all. Would recommend and would / will buy from them again. They are a small family owned company doing good work.

After some back and forth I ordered the 36 inch drop in Santa Maria with the rotisserie and wood grate. The craftsmanship is first class. If I lived in Hurricane Alley I’d seek shelter under this grill. So far just some steaks and a tri tip but both where excellent. I have a pellet smoker/grill and a flat top and I see the Santa Maria as becoming my go to. JD and his wife took all my stupid questions in stride. Excellent customer service. Product shipped on time. It’s the grill in my kitchen that has gotten the most comments about.just need to fill the wood box below it and string some lights and the kitchen is done. You won’t be disappointed

This is my my 3 rd season with my Santa Maria grill and couldn’t be happier. Lauren and JD guided me through the process and to this day are still helping me to add accessories. From ordering to shipping and installing I couldn’t have asked or a better company or quality of grill. Right next to it I have a 54 inch professional Lynx grill and find myself using my Santa Maria grill on a regular basis. Over time we have also discovered that using royal oak charcoal seems to give a more even heat and longer burning time instead of regular wood.

We left SM back in the 80's and bought a SM style bbq grill from Benson's BBQ in Sunnyvale. After 25 yrs we burned through the grill and they were long out of business. I found JD Fabrication on line and was pleasantly surprised by all the grills and accessories they sell! I decided on the stainless rolling grill and they custom made it to fit my grill and shipped it to the bay area. It fit perfectly! And it works great! It is something our son will be able to inherit in 30 years because it is made so well! Thank you!

Dear JD and Lauren, this past summer I built a complete outdoor kitchen. Your drop in frame stainless steel grill is the the highlight of our project. The grill was well built and functions! Perfectly as well as looks great. Highly recommended

My husband and I ordered a Ranch Style grill as we wanted a piece from home here in CT.
At the time, we had ordered a 36”, but while our order was waitlisted due to COVID, I reached out and Lauren graciously upgraded our grill to 48”.
We received our grill within 2 weeks of it being shipped out and was secured on a pellet. We did have a U bolt and screw missing, but was an easy fix and could be found at a home improvement store.
My only recommendations are to have the directions on how to set up the wheel with the shipment when customer receives. I did reach out to JD for a video and they were kind enough to send one and the directions. Another is the collar seems to be loose and not secure on the rod. I’m afraid the rod might fall down while in use. Lastly, the pellet had nails coming up which you had to be careful when removing the grill.
Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with our purchase and we also had a few neighbors over for a BBQ who were from TX, CA and FL and enjoyed the grill themselves. They asked where we purchased and mentioned JD Fabrication.

This grill is the real deal. Well built, stylish, and functional. We love the wheel that raises and lowers the cooking surface and the fire brick lined firebox insulates the heat well. This grill anchors our backyard cooking area. The finished product exceeded our expectations. Thanks JD and Lauren

I am so incredibly pleased by the fine craftsmanship of my new Santa Maria Grill. Not only does it work for EVERYTHING from huge cuts of meat to tiny veggies with wood or charcoal - it is beautiful. When it arrived we had a contractor at our house and everyone gathered around and oohed and aahed. I had to remind them about social distancing! Haha! The next day my gardener was knocking on the door to ask where did I get such a magnificent grill? ! It really is a showpiece and last night I grilled the tastiest tri-tip of my life over red oak. Heaven on Earth, really. Lastly, I should mention that JD and Lauren were wonderful to work with - answering every one of my questions thoroughly and in a timely fashion. I simply could not be happier.

As always, customer service was immediate and honest. Though manufacturing wait times can be long, their products are the BEST by far and well worth waiting for. The stainless steel storage lids are well made (of course!) and a perfect complement to my 24x30 drop-in grill.

JD Fabrications (JD & Lauren) were professional and great to work with. Ordered a custom countertop drop in grill and it went in perfectly. Grill is well crafted and you can tell JD takes pride in his work. Great job & thanks.
