Santa Monica Veterinary Group reviews
17Chris is so in tune with animals. The whole staff was friendly and expressed a lot of compassion for my dog. Wish I would’ve found this vet sooner!
Absolutely Exceptional Service at Santa Monica Veterinary Group!
Navigating the complexities of securing an international health certificate for Willie was made incredibly smooth, thanks to the unparalleled expertise and support from Madison and the team at Santa Monica Veterinary Group. Madison was exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive, handling the whole process with remarkable efficiency and extremely tight timeline. Her genuine care for Willie's well-being put us at ease, and we walked away with all the necessary paperwork completed to perfection. If you're in need of veterinary services, especially for international travel, I wholeheartedly recommend Santa Monica Veterinary Group—you'll be in the best hands!
Willie is enjoying his island time!
This is the best veterinary group in the area. Everyone is so incredibly kind and helpful, they truly care about he pets, and are so sweet. Dr. Khalaf is one of the most genuine people I have met. I can not recommend this place enough.
We are so pleased and lucky to have found this place! Our shelter dog, Jax, is VERY nervous at the vet and can be reactive when he sees medical equipment. We took him to Santa Monica Veterinary Group because the vet we were seeing had temporarily closed and we needed to get Jax some vaccines in order for him to go to a board and train back in April. We had such a great experience with Dr. Berg that we have made SM Vet Group our official vet office. They listened carefully to what we had to say about Jax being scared/nervous and they actually worked with Jax to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Definitely recommend them for anyone seeking a vet office that takes the time to truly understand how to best work with each pet they see.
Excellent staff who took me as a walk in since I was concerned about my dog.dr berg.the best.explained everything to me.and as far as pricing.they r the most reasonable vet around S. M.
. I'm so grateful I went here.now I found my vet!
It's clean, and bright and doesn't smell. And they make appointments! Lovely staff and doctors
Friends had taken their pets to this vet before the ownership change with rave reviews. So when our new cat had an emergency, this is where we went. I was unsure, given the ownership change, but figured it was probably still good since the previous owner was still on staff.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend. Our experience was beyond disappointing, bordering on disturbing. While front office staff was superb, communication between the technicians and the emergency doctor was not strong. Nothing we said to the technician seemed to make it to the doctor before our consult. The doctor also wasn't focused on our cat's actual symptoms, was very rushed, and seemed quite distracted. It almost felt like we were wasting his time. (Our consult was no more than 5 minutes, it was nowhere near closing, and there was just one other patient there with one waiting.)
Not only did this group try to sell us medicine to treat symptoms she didn't have (which staff implied was standard practice), we were told (by the technician) that her swollen eye wasn't anything; that it was “fine”. (Others have disagreed.) The doctor couldn't be bothered to answer questions or discuss possible causes directly. It was like a game of telephone. I'm not convinced he really even checked it out. To add insult to injury, we were also told we’d have test results within 48 hours; it took 4 days.
Given other reviews, perhaps our experience was an anomaly, but we chose not to risk it and found another provider with a care philosophy focused more on actual wellness than checking off boxes. Our cat’s health and our piece of mind is too important.
UPDATE: Despite their reply, I have received no phone call or email from their office. (The information they have on file is current, as they used it for billing and confirmations.) I have reached out to them as well with no success, including requests for medical records. And the issue they disregarded as “nothing” and not worthy of further exploration is possibly terminal, backed by 3 other vets.
UPDATE: The issue with her eye was directly related to nasal lymphoma, which took her life just a few months after this visit. I am so glad we went with our gut and never returned and found vets who listened and didn’t shrug us off. While no vet could likely have prevented her death, having one who listened and was open to collaborating with specialists allowed us to make our cat as comfortable as possible until she was ready to go.
I absolutely recommend there happy atmosphere very welcoming and really nice looking older building, makes it very homie warm inviting!
Santa Monica Veterinary group is really good. They were very promt with helping me out with getting my dogs health certificate done as I was moving to India. Big shoutout to Madison. She is extremely proactive and helpful.
Excellent care for our dog. Great technicians; veterinarians that talk to you (and listen) ; appropriate pricing; great results.
No parking, no waiting area, always late. A stressful time for you and your pet waiting in the car wondering when they might come out on a busy dangerous road. They have ample space to setup a temporary waiting area in the driveway.
They are under construction but business is busy as usual. New vet as professional as Jones.
Their intake was strange but I can’t fault them for their quick, high quality service, done at very fair prices.
Dr Ken jones and his staff are great. He sold the business but is still there several days a week. New faces at the desk, but same techs and friendly caring service.
Dr. Berg was awesome he takes the time to give your pet a thorough exam, He explains everything in detail and makes your pet feel comfortable. His assistant Danni was very friendly and answered all of my questions in detail.
I brought my dog to see Dr. Berg and Dr Jones after she had seen a vet who had misdiagnosed her with a minor ailment. My dog was in critical condition when I brought her. She was close to death, they never gave up on her and Dr. Berg was able to diagnose her with Addison’s disease and save her life. They are compassionate and you can tell they love and care about the animals that are brought in. I cannot say enough about this office if you are looking for the best vets in town. Then this is the office for you
Again thank you all so much for taking care of Lola if I could give more than 5 stars I would
