A hidden Semi Valley gem! This fully restored Southern Pacific depot is a must-see for railfans, history buffs, and anyone who just enjoys seeing how things used to be. Much of the former freight room has been converted to an HO scale model railroad based on some of the famous places along the former SP.
Excellent docents and friendly, helpful model railroaders make this an amazing place.

Great place to bring children and explore the depot and watch trains go past too. Much history of the Santa Susana railroad and area can be found and learned here and there is a model train set too. Tours are available as well. The station is open from 1 to 4 PM.

Amazing hidden gem! My friend and I went here to kill an hour or two and we were not disappointed. Firstly, staff was super nice and eager to educate and answer any train related questions. Lots of very cool history, pictures, maps, and model trains everywhere. One of the members even gave us a tour of their 500-foot long model train set that follows the California coast and up towards Redding. They had their own system of working switches and software to manage it all. The depot itself doesn’t see much rail traffic pass by anymore apparently other than from Metrolink commuter rail and the occasional freight train on the weekends; but we were told in its hayday there were 40+ trains passing through daily. Overall, it seemed like a fun and inclusive place to hang out on a weekend. Definitely would recommend a visit and be sure to bring cash if you want to donate to their museum!

This place is awesome for train enthusiasts, a must visit place. The people that work there give you a tour and are very knowledgeable of the history. You also get to see real trains passing right by.

If you like trains, even just a bit, this is a gem. There are two people dressed in period costume that obviously very much love what they do. I learned much about the history of Santa Susana and Simi. I would give this 10 stars if I could. There is also one of the best model railroad layouts I have seen.
