Interesting place. Ambience was ok though could use a little warmth with cushioned seating at the bar. Also needs bag hooks or holders as small conveniences. The table disposable napkin was already stained upon arrival.
Hard to order without needing to shout over slightly loud music. Sound echoed in the small space. Better sound balance might have helped.
Menu looked fine and varied although needs to be updated on the website to reflect changes and pricing increases on the printed version.
Someone of the dishes like the table charcoal seared tuna seemed a little gimmicky and unnecessary but makes for social media hits.
Overall dishes were fine but an elevated for the quality of the dishes served.
The draught beer was out of order.
Service was fine although our started was missing and required re-ordering.
A little more attention to detail will help with overall experience.
N.b. We were comped our started drinks for the missing starter dish.

I highly recommend seared o’toro through its heavenly taste, exquisite hamachi nigiri with Oaxacan chocolate and Colima salt, and vegan chocolate ice cream (I am an expert of vegan ice cream). The service was really good, the place is small but cozy. We’re lucky we found a spot at the bar right away, no reservation.
It’s special sushi that you can’t miss.

I'm from Mexico City and it's definitely my favorite HandRoll and Nigiris place, the service is also excellent, they make you feel like family.

Best new sushi spot in LA. Super vibey: great for a date night or catching up with friends. The sushi is fresh and the hamachi choco is a must try. Make sure to make a reservation in advance! They fill up fast

We didn’t have reservations, but the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were seated and ordered the salmon nigiri and the avocado nigiri as well as the spicy tuna. Everything was soooo amazing! We ordered seconds of the spicy tuna roll. The vegan chocolate ice cream was also amazing. Our server Yesi was so nice and attentive. Loved everything about this place from the ambiance to the food to the staff!

My partner and I dined at San-to on 8/29. Although the staff was great, it seemed like a lot of things weren’t working when we were there. The draft beer wasn’t available, there was mix ups with our order, and a few items listed in the menu weren’t available. The menu is very small, so that was very limiting. I would say it was maybe because they just opened, but it didn’t leave the best impression. What I am most puzzled about is that a week after we dined there, our credit card was charged with a $70 “recurring payment”, and the transaction was from San-To. We tried to contact the restaurant but there was no way to get in touch so we had to call the bank and do a fraud claim.

Anyway… strange things happens

I recently dined at SanTo; the new hand roll restaurant in Silverlake, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and trendy, setting the perfect tone for a great dining experience. The hand rolls themselves were a true masterpiece. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the presentation was impeccable. Each roll was a burst of flavor and texture, making it hard to pick a favorite. The variety of options on the menu ensured there was something for everyone, from classic choices to unique and creative combinations. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff who were eager to explain the menu and provide recommendations. They made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

I was also impressed with the attention to detail in the restaurant's decor and design. It created a modern and comfortable space to enjoy the delicious hand rolls.

Overall, this new hand roll restaurant is a hidden gem that I'll definitely be returning to. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality sushi and a wonderful dining experience.

This will be my third time going to Santo since they open and food, vibe and service have been always on point. Cole the manager is on top of everything and is extremely attentive. So happy santo is in the neighborhood.

Phenomenal. I love the concise menu— order anything, it’ll be a party in your mouth. Service was excellent, ambience was lively and the fish was so fresh. The textures are irresistible and the flavors are addicting. A perfect harmony of inventive and traditional. Our new favorite sushi spot in LA. If there are only two of you, I encourage you to sit at the bar. Can’t wait to return.

This is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in LA and they are just getting started. My husband and I came for our 1 year anniversary dinner. The staff welcomed us and immediately served us drinks. We sat at the sushi bar. They have an extensive list of amazing sakis that is served in a wine glass!

I cannot stress this enough - the fish is so fresh, it's immaculate!

The Food: Everything was so good we ordered it all twice!

-Hiroshito Peppers - so bomb with a great crunch
-O'Toro - so buttery and soft and they sear it right in front of you
-Hamachi truffle hand roll - the sauce is incredible for this!
-Hamachi sashimi - incredibly beautiful and delicious
-Salmon - again, so buttery and soft
-Hamachi Choco - a s'more without a s'more - incredlbe
-Ube ice cream - don't sleep on this, leave the room!

The Vibes: simply sensational.

The Staff: so friendly and on top of it. They knew what I needed before I knew what I needed. You can't put a price on the excellent service.

You need a reservation for the sushi bar. Outdoor seating and the nook inside welcome walk in's! If there's a wait, grab a drink and chill outside. The coolest people are just hanging outside. You never know who you'll run into ;)

Can't wait until we go back!

Really love this new Japanese restaurant in Silver Lake! My husband and I love Sushi, and read about Santo in LAist and decided to try it. The food was mouth watering, and incredibly unique with just the right combination of sauces! We had a really refreshing bottle of Sake to complement our dinner. Service was extremely gracious, friendly and personable. Also, the atmosphere is comfortable and elegant. Highly recommend it!

Wow with this place, the food tasted DELICIOUS, of everything we tried I couldn't say which was better. They gave us recommendations, they explained doubts, they were always very friendly and attentive, we stayed a long time in the place because the atmosphere is very pleasant and it is easy to talk and they are always aware of what you need. I do recommend making a reservation because there are times when there are a lot of people, there are several streets with free parking around and it doesn't take us long to find a place. Thank you for this very pleasant experience
