Sapporo Sushi, Menifee CA

This 1 star review is more about 1 person, not the place as a whole.
We have been there numerous times and I always end the the night with a hand roll.
Sometimes salmon, sometimes eel, sometimes, Ono. Tonight this one sushi chef (he always seems to be in the middle) told us we couldn't have the same hand roll that I have had the last 3 times we were there. When asked why he said because they don't allow that. I then told him I have had that the last three times we were here and he rudely ask me, "Who served you that because we don't do that". How the hell do I know who made it? I write down the order, hand it to the server, and then they bring it to me. All the years I've been eating sushi I have never been denied a regular sushi order being put in a hand roll.
Most of the time we sit at a table but the two times we sat at the bar he was always the one acting all high and mighty and always being rude to his own servers. He also seems to be the only one that refuses to wear gloves while preparing food. In this day in age if you're going to act like a rude jerk, everyone, including whoever allows him to continue to act like this, is going to know about it.
When you spend well over $100 every time you go there the last thing you want to do is walk away mad. That's exactly whet happen tonight.

The food is decent, and the service is good. The place isn't a very welcoming. There are rules for everything, and it seems like they nickel and dime you for everything.

Best sushi place I've found out here in the desert. Not too fancy but it scratches the itch when you need some sushi. Their all you can eat deal is pretty good.

Great sushi spot. Good lunch specials. Many regulars and locals. We go here about 3 times a month. Always good quality and service.

Lately the quality of the food has changed. The size of the ride portions has increased while the portion of the fish has decreased. The sake is horrible. Don't bother. Overall is ok but it's definitely not the same since the new chef.

Rude staff, waited 1 hour for my 15 minute order. Never again. Glad I always save tip for end of transaction.this order had me holding onto mine.

The sushi is absolutely incredible. So fresh and so flavorful! All their rolls are amazing! 10 stars!

Ohhh my they have the best sushi in Menifee for sure and they have a nice patio setup along with friendly staff and some of them are even Japanese. Try the philly roll its amazing!

My husband got the all you can eat which was amazing. I got the teriyaki beef entre that came with miso soup, salad, sticky rice, California rolls, and the beef of course. It was probably some of the best beef teriyaki I've had. We got food extremely fast and it was delicious. I had a great night out and they accommodated my two children as well.

Went inside to eat, sat down at sushi bar, after 10 minutes no one greater us or spoke to us. I noticed the surface every sticky, so we got and left. I will never return the management needs some improvement.

Staff is friendly & quick to get you seated. The food is always good! It always seems to get packed quickly but is definitely worth it!

I tried rolls I normally wouldn't try. Dude, no lie. The Pokémon Sushi roll was so good, the BBQ Beef roll is very tasty (tastes like Bulgogi with less sauce). Both of those I'd order often. Others were very good, like the Ceviche roll. It was just too hot even without the Jalapeño on it, spicy Tuna is more than enough heat for me. I had 11 items in total because I had the All you can eat deal. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I have been coming to this place since it opened a few years ago. I never had an issue until last night. The service was horrendous! As soon as we were seated they told me my 1.5 year old could not share our food. I said that’s fine, my child doesn’t eat sushi anyway. We were a group of 4 adults and my child. Once we placed our order, the server asked if I was going to purchase a kids meal for my child. Again I said, “no, she doesn’t eat anything on this menu”. After a few minutes they brought back the order form with RED pen marks circling their policy and underlined specific words in their policy such as “don’t share food” and “any left overs will be charged”. I was horrified but honestly, I didn’t know if I should laugh at the pettiness or be angry with their passive aggressive attitude. Once our food arrived, I pulled out my baby’s milk cup and her little box of snacks. The server immediately walked over and said the manager sent her over to tell us that outside food is not allowed but since our food had already been served then they were going to allow us to stay. This was the last straw. It was so upsetting that we couldn’t even enjoy our food. First of all, if this is such a big issue why won’t the manager come tell us herself. It’s disturbing to know that we were being watched so closely that it took literally one minute after taking out my child’s snacks for them to send someone over. I’ve taken my child to many restaurants where I have her snacks and milk out and it has never been an issue anywhere else. What is their obsession with a 1 and a half year old? I dont understand the pettiness of that manager. Will never come back to this place and I will definitely tell everyone I know to avoid this place. Their customer service is disgusting to say the least.

They have a wide variety of sushi to choose from. Sushi came out fast. All you can eat for around $38. The place is kind of small. Overall, I will visit again.

I've been to a lot of sushi places in the past, and this spot is definitely one of the best. They have a huge selection of sushi, and the quality is top notch. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Do I recommend this place? Yassss! Also, if you're trying to go for the All-You-Can-Eat option, make sure to arrive at least 1 hour before closing.

Was looking for a sushi place that offered AYCE near one of our work sites. Used to go to another around the area that didn't have AYCE so we gave this place a shot since it did.

Food was delicious! Some of the best I have had in a while AND actually the first AYCE experience for my supervisor. He even said that was some of, if not, the best he has had.

Recommend the Red Dragon roll AND the Banana Crunch roll (sounds weird but it is delicious!). All the other rolls and their sushi is delicious. We ordered a lot.

We will be coming back to this place whenever we are in the area.

Food was good, delivered fast. Wait staff were attentive and on top of things. Food was not high end sushi, but was still good. Our son enjoyed his rainbow roll and we enjoyed the spicy scallops roll.

Finally! I found a sushi place that makes SPICY sushi! The Hawaiian roll and the adios habanero roll were so good!

Arrived about one hour before closing. They let us order about six sushi rolls, and 4 apps for one round of All You Can Eat. Great service and amazing food!

Food is.ok. I feel it's over priced for all you can eat. Then they charge you for unfinished rolls. I had all you can eat lunch, water and was charged for 2 unfinished rolls $95! (with automatic tip included for a party of 6) That was just my bill. Don't think it's worth it. Sanchome in San Jacinto is way better!
