This is a criminal organization. They blatantly disregard the health and safety of their residents. My upstairs neighbor flooded his and my apt causing severe water damage in the ceiling and walls. I filed an insurance claim due to the severity of the damages and was placed in a hotel. The building manager refused to hire their own MOLD testing company and falsely claimed the apt was safe to move back into after a week, and cancelled my insurance claim forcing me to return without providing a MOLD test. I had to pay $475 out of pocket to hire my own mold test which proved there are elevated levels of toxic mold in the air. I got placed back into a hotel after the building emailed my insurance stating they NEED me out of the unit for water repairs. When I asked for a rent credit after not being able to live in my unit for 3 weeks out of the month, they falsely accusing me of CHOOSING to leave instead of needing to leave when their own email they sent clearly states I left out of necessity. I had no choice but to retain an attorney to help me resolve these issues. Even worse, I had bloodwork done that confirmed I do have a MOLD allergy. The building again tried to cancel my insurance claim without providing proof that they performed a new mold test but luckily this time my insurance was smart enough to make them prove it before taking me out of the hotel stay. I am still in a hotel (36 days after the flood) waiting for the building to provide results from a new mold test that they claimed they performed. I've called the building over 12 times in the last week, sent 3 emails and even visited the office in person, all of which I got no response. An employee of the office, literally said "I have no response for you" when I asked if they have the proof of mold results coming back clean. They are in VIOLATION of a number of HEALTH AND SAFETY CODES as well as in VIOLATION of not honoring the lease which they wrote that clearly states in paragraph 23 that if the unit is UNINHABITABLE I am owed a rent credit. I have been in this building for over a year now and used to love my apt, but now I cannot wait for the day I am able to leave this place. RATS have been seen running around the ground floor, 2nd floor, even the 9th floor. HOMELESS people often gain access to the lobby and parking garage, one time somebody GOT STABBED outside the building, found their way in, had to be maced by security and left blood all over one of the elevators. Elevators which by the way never work and turned off regularly. If you want to live in downtown San Diego, do yourself a favor and find somewhere other than this place, for your own SAFETY.

They will hang up the moment you state that you live in one of their properties. Then refuse to answer any calls from your number.

I do not recommend living at any of their properties. First, I’ve lived at two of their properties and they change complex managers at least 3 times during both of my leases. At my first apartment after my departure to avoid giving me any of my deposit back the falsified work that was done and deducted from my apartment. It wasn’t until after I requested and itemized receipt that they sent cleaners and painters to the apartment over a month and a half later and I had to dispute it because my neighbor happened to be my friend and had photos of them doing this. 3rd my second apartment I moved into as a new mom and during summer my air conditioner was not only broken but came crashing down and flooded water all over the apartment damaging my personal items. It was then that they had no choice but to come and fix, I also had a roach infestation that was not taken seriously or treated for 5 months until they switched apartment managers and even then with all of my items in the middle of the apartment for 5 months being treated it was a serious problem. I vacated the property over a year ago and I am still waiting for someone to contact me about my deposit being returned. This is the worst company. If you have a family they will not fix any issues potentially dangerous for your children & when you move they will avoid giving you the deposit you’re entitled to back at all cost and falsify work that has been done. I am looking into further ways to handle this issue since no one has gotten back to me in over a year and they are impossible to get a hold of.

I never leave bad reviews but I think people need to know what they’re getting into when they’re looking for a place to call home you deserve a company that cares about their renters.

Moved out of Villa Del Sol Pomona Apartments on June 5,2023 and have still not received any itemization, statement, invoice, or notification of our security deposit. No one answered the calls even the automated system is not working. I have called this corporate office several times for several days and have never received a call back, or the ability to leave a message. I have called my leasing office several times and they cannot seem to provide me any answer other than "We have to ask Corporate. " It is well over the legally required 21 days to return my deposit or provide me documentation. I have emailed their Customer Service email as well, but I doubt to be hearing back. A demand letter via certified mail will be required as it is impossible to speak with anyone. Off to the Post Office!

Presumably all the glowing ones are spam reviews they paid for. Because my experiences since they took over at Onyx have matched most other reviewers' - at least the poor communication, the contemptuous treatment by their employees (not the maintenance and cleaning crew; they were here before and have always been great). Already wondering what kind of hell they'll put me through next time I need a work order fulfilled, to say nothing of what they're going to pull when I move out. Which is likely to be a full year earlier than expected, unless something changes. Seems like at least one of the people managing the building is actually from another property and mainly does leasing, so maybe he's taking it out on all of us that he has to deal with people who already have signed leases.

[EDIT]: The response below is inaccurate, possibly dishonest. The employee who has been the most contemptuous and hostile - from the very first interaction, mind, before there had been any history whatsoever between us - has, in their email signature, the logo and contact info for a different Sares Regis property. That employee is listed as a leasing agent there, so perhaps they are annoyed at having to perform routine building management tasks and are taking it out on all of us. Either way, the entire office staff changed all of a sudden a few days before we received notice of the change in management.

Sares Regis has also ignored the attempt I made to contact them in regards to both this employee and the absurdly shambolic and delayed rollout of information to residents regarding such things as, oh, how to set up autopay for rent and when our utilities would show up - and whether we would have a chance to settle the bills before our service got shut off. It's finally been explained (via a printed page taped to our doors), but was needlessly delayed and difficult.

I previously lived in the Topaz apartments, I moved out on April 1st and have yet to receive my deposit back. The leasing office has stopped answering all calls and responding to emails. The excuse I was given was about the building recently changing management to SRG. I have already emailed Customer Care.

I highly recommend you read my review on 350 Sharon Green in Menlo Park.
The worst experience of my life dealing with the staff in the office. She set me up for an apartment at neary $11,000 and decided to charge my card $400.00 a month to Comcast for 6 months $2400.00. Then I gave a 30 notice that I would be leaving there on October 1at 12 noon and she charged me till October 31 and this was all approved by the manager Moses Pimental The grounds are beautiful and the people staying there were all very nice and I love the fact that you can have animals there.
One other thing I love to bake and when I went to use the oven the handle broke off in my hand.
When I was sitting by the pool with my friends I let the office girl know about the oven and she rudely yelled out fix it yourself we don't do maintenance. Just so very rude and unprofessional for such a beautiful place. They need to get rid of Kimberly and the other girl and straighten that mess out.
I also heard alot of complaints about those 2 I was only there for 2 months and $33,000 was charged to my insurance account
Good luck

Moved out. Was threatened to be charged for a full clean. Hired a cleaner for move out. Was charged for a full clean anyways.

The apartment was not damaged in any way before moving out but a window was magically broken that they are charging to us. We are disputing this but office management refuses to give any contact information for corporate or the regional. They are also refusing to provide proof of the broken window.

We are talking with a small claims lawyer as both of these feel like retaliation for having to terminate the lease early. It's a shame that a professional business would act so shady.

Presidio apartment
We moved in 2020 and I was pregnant and told them I needed wood floor due to allergies they agreed took deposit lease done when we came in it was carpet waste of calling movers and we have stay back and again they gave me another unit glad we checked it through blinds before moving in full of roaches and when I informed they said yes we can do treatment I was soo mad already we were nearing due to moved in 9th month problems didn't stop there the washer and dryer wasn't working and we kept on informing no one came and fixed they said they will call manager and after 1 year struggle they found out problem and still didn't fix untill couple of follow ups. Then we bought new car and had rental car my daughter fell in playground and we were in emergency and they jus towed our cars 800$ there. Our packages got lost and strangers suddenly come in though it's secured at night and say need money ringing door happened many times and we were super scared. They don't even put on notice if any work is started and they closed entire pathway front of our door for work and the weird thing is when they kept paint order on the door for the buildingwithout informing they jus jump on into patio super scary. Even though some of our stuff was there we were clearing up they didn't even notice and sprayed water all over even when they can see we are still at patio. Another one above floor unit sink was not draining and came in to check ours and broke entire drainage pipe and all the drainage water was in our apartment the maintenance guy throwed everything which got wet and didnt even bother to let us know.suddenly strangers come into property and break cars and even make the pool bathroom nasty. No security they charge high but no security system or cameras installed. Worst part is mold they don't even care I complained I had mold kids are getting sick no one really cared. Smoking and weed happens in property premises though it's a non -smoking property.

The move-out charges were exorbitant, and parking charges kept increasing.worst management especially Linda. I have photos and proof they never bought up on initial move out inspection but after move out they charged for bath tub, stovetop, cleaning carpet entirely 2k

I rented from Solara apartments from sept 2015 to September 2017 and I am still dealing with their terrible management to this day. We recently applied for rental but it was denied because of a non rent write off of 254 dollars in Oct 2017. We vacated our unit in sept 2017 but you sent the balance to collections only 17 days later, even after 2 emails asking for our move out balance so I could pay. At the time, I didn’t realize it was collections but I paid the balance (plus interest and fees) in full. Please correct your records or reach out to me to help resolve.

Similar to reviews below, they inaccurately report that I owe money to them on my credit when that is NOT the case. What’s worse is that you most likely won’t find out until you get a credit check while applying for a new residence. I would NOT live in ANY property that is managed by them.

My experience with the employees of this company have been extremely unpleasant, unresponsive, and unprofessional to say the least. They haven’t helped address or acknowledge the issues or questions I requested assistance with. Very bad customer service.
