A Winery with Untapped Potential Hindered by Excessive Rules

I recently paid a visit to this winery, initially drawn by its reputed wines and promising ambiance. While the winery displayed a great level of hospitality by the hosts, I couldn't help but feel that its numerous rules and restrictions hindered its ability to captivate and attract visitors. It's unfortunate because the wine is truly enjoyable, but the overall experience falls short due to an overwhelming sense of rigidity.

I must acknowledge that the winery does offer a certain level of hospitality, and the staff is polite and accommodating. However, it's difficult to fully embrace the experience when confronted with an abundance of rules and restrictions. Unlike other wineries in the area, which embrace a more relaxed and inclusive approach, this winery's strict policies create a sense of unease and inhibit the opportunity for visitors to fully enjoy themselves.

The most notable drawback is the prohibition on bringing outside food. While I understand the need for certain regulations, the freedom to enjoy a personal picnic or indulge in a favorite snack alongside the wine can greatly enhance the overall experience. Other wineries in the vicinity have successfully struck a balance, welcoming guests to bring their own food or hosting food-related events that create a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

To truly thrive and stand out from the competition, I encourage this winery to reconsider its approach to rules and restrictions. By adopting a more flexible and inclusive mindset, they can create an atmosphere that resonates with a wider audience and cultivates a sense of relaxation and enjoyment. What a wonderful stop on our way to Monterey! We had a delightful server and a wonderful tasting experience. You have to try the Lamb and Rosemary salami if you want a good bite to go along with your wine!

Great midpoint to stop for a glass of wine between Monterey and San Luis Obispo. Great host Don Julio we had a great time!

Love this place! Great white wines here. Must try their Odd Lot White. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Expensive and not flexible as far as tasting across their large repertoire of wines.

This winery boasts 27 varietals but you won't get access to very many of them. They are super strict about what they open.

If you are a Pinot lover then this winery might be for you. Exceptional and truly dry Pinot is made by this wine maker.

Not for me, this place is all about the profit margins, and cost controls.

Great pinot can be had here but it is all over $50 per bottle.

The forced tasting list is a bummer.
