Times like these we all need to take a moment to be thankful. While I have many things to be grateful for (being alive, health, friends.), I am very much appreciative of Dr Tobis. Always compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled and dedicated. Sincerely, Mark W.

The entire office and surgical team were a pleasure to meet and work with. The process went very smoothly, from getting initial appointments through recovery. I am very satisfied with Dr Tobis' results, and won't hesitate to recommend him to others that need the same procedure.

Outstanding urologic surgeon. Thorough, competent, and up to speed on the best treatments and techniques. Excellent bedside manners and personality. Takes the time to answer questions and explain with a level of thoroughness.

The only good thing I can say about this quack is that he eventually referred me to a doctor who cared. I went to visit him shortly after arriving in Santa Barbara based on his great reviews online. I have a routine, non-complicated issue and it was fairly apparent from the start that this was "beneath" him in his mind. Instead of just saying that I should see a different doctor, first he asked if I was interested in a different course of treatment without telling me that it required getting a bunch of approvals from my insurance company which they rarely approve. After a bunch of aggravation with my insurance company (it was denied), we went back to the "standard" routine course of treatment most people in my position do. Through all this aggravation I never once heard from him - it was only random receptionists or nurses at his office. He never followed up at all, despite my needing blood tests during the treatment. I had to actually call his office and say "Gee, do you think maybe I should be getting a blood test soon? " Eventually he called me over a year after I had first seen him (the one and only time I had seen him) to announce he was dropping me as a patient saying he was more focused on different areas of urology now (proving my theory that he never had any interest in my "easy" case). He referred me to another doctor, who actually followed up and cared.

Fast-forward a few years later, and now that I've left Santa Barbara I asked Sansum for all my medical records. I was shocked to see that this jackass Dr. Tobis created a work of fiction in my medical records blaming me for not following up with him with blood tests when *I* was the one who had to call his damn office to ask for blood tests to be done. And then I found out some of my readings were off the chart and dangerously high - something I would have never known had I not asked for blood tests. So we can add liar to his list of qualifications. I told part of this story to Sansum a few years ago and, of course, nothing was done cause it's Santa Barbara.where inept doctors run rampant.

Dr. Tobis was recommended through my excellent primary care physician, Dr. Holderness. It's important for me to feel like a doctor cares, is concerned with my well being, and willing to listen to my concerns. Dr. Tobis is such a doctor. He listened and answered any questions I had. I am very satisfied and grateful that I have Dr. Tobis on my side.

Dr. Tobis is personable, communicative and a patient advocate, even beyond his responsibilities. He is current on research including some not yet published. He performed my prostate surgery (TURP) and was continually solicitous of me and my worried spouse. I've had some good urologists, but none with all the qualities mentioned above. When I encountered red tape about a matter in the hospital system he made a strong attempt to cut through it. Character runs deep in this friendly, competent and skillful young man.
