My therapist gave me an evaluation. They were not happy with me and no longer interested in helping me. When I left that day I cancelled remaining appointments. I don’t stay where I am not welcome. I will do my best to exercise and help myself

I was very disappointed in the Brain Injury Program. I was really hoping to get Comprehensive skills out of the classes & I feel #1 the judged me from the moment I walked in for my initial interview. #2 when they found out I had a SSI case that was ongoing they pushed me out of the Program. I was in desperate need for help for life skills after the things I have been through and I need help learning to speak to certain people because of my Injury and it just didn't happen here. I don't know how they call it a Brain Injury Program.its not. And Mariann was late to every appointment by at least 15 minutes. I think they are over booked and just push out people. Which is unfair.

Best brain injury rehabilitation in San Diego County. I traveled up from La Mesa for Speech, Physical and occupational therapies. Each therapist understood brain injury in ways no one else in San Diego has. Balance, Spasticity, swallowing, speech, motor coordination, communication disorders. Scripps Encinitas is the neuro expert!

The only frustration is neurorehabilitation is lengthy and requires multiple insurance updates. Scheduling is really a problem. Making all my appointments up front helped to plan transportation and ensure continuity of care by staying with the same therapist. Sadly, scheduling is a major issue. They can only schedule two months at a time. Even if more than 8 weekly appointments were initially approved by insurance, and more approved along the way. Administrative support doesn't communicate with therapists over the course of treatment. Twice this year I've run to the end of the initial scheduled appointments, had my therapist say they'd see me the following week, only to show up and discover the office hadn't scheduled any more visits. Traumatic Brain Injury is rough. Tracking insurance approvals and appointments with a healing brain is super tough. I wish that everyone attending neuro-rehab could be tracked by the brain injury administrative scheduling. It would prevent large gaps between appointments disrupting continuity of care. I had to wait weeks to return in March and then again in June. Scheduling is all so overwhelming.

That said, the front desk people are super kind and patient with my speech problems.

This place is super busy. It's weird they keep adding chairs to the waiting area, basically eliminating wheelchair waiting spaces. I feel like I'm in the way with so many other people using walkers. I used to always wait in front of the restrooms, so I'd be out of the way. Now that area is also filled with chairs, so now I get to wait where the therapists gather in front of the announcements. In either location, there was no place for my caregiver to sit.

This place treated my mom terribly, the front counter check in people are militant about outdated policies and refused to help my mother.

I recently wrapped up months of therapy here and I'm really happy with the results. My therapists, Christian Carter and Marianne Shamlou, were fantastic - skilled and super collaborative.

This review is for the Pelvic floor Therapy.
I made an appointment over a month ago, and I was scheduled for Jan 10th, 2023. On the day of my appointment, I received a call from them an HOUR before my appointment, and was told that the PT is ABSENT. So they have to reschedule my appointment, when I asked when is the next available date, they told me the earliest they have is NEXT MONTH.
I told them that, I waited for more than a month, and requested to be off from work, to make sure that I’d be able to show up on my appointment. It is not fair, and very unprofessional to cancel on their client LAST MINUTE. It is not my fault that the PT is absent, and should find a coverage for their call offs.

Then I was told that, I can come on Monday Jan. 16th, instead. I didn’t have a choice but to call my supervisor and requested to be off again for that day. The next day, Jan 11th, I received another call from their office, and was told that they have to CANCEL IT AGAIN, because “MADDIE” the PT is not gonna be available on that day! AGAIN! And I have to reschedule it AGAIN!

Front desk is very rude. Actual PT service is great but not worth the attitude at the front desk. Try to go to a different location if you can. Much better service.
