Food was food, but expensive. Not unexpected considering it is inside the museum, and it is SF. Food options are food, including healthy and non-healthy, and desserts. Chicken strips were ok, and the nachos with carne asada were surprisingly good.
There are tables inside, and you can also grab one of the tables at the pier.
Pros: inside the museum, pick your food, pay and go sit. They'll prepare the food and bring it to your table
Cons: pricey

This place knows how to get families through the door and still offer healthy food!

Pleasantly surprised by the good lunch choices available. We had the taco shell with chicken rice, and beans. It was very good, and filling. The view of the Oakland Bay and bridge was very enjoyable during our lunch.

We love this museum and have been there many times in the past. We usually stayed in the cafe for lunch — since this is an interesting museum with a lot of hands on things that you can try.

Their teriyaki tofu rice bowl is almost $20. I should not have said this was overpriced given this is in SF and also you can get decent view here.
However, there are 2 main complaints: 1.portion size is quite small — even my 5 year old can finish one bowl within 10 mins and still says he is not full 2. He did not finish it, because the bowl was way over salty. I took 2 bites from it and just cannot finish the rest.
