4Not a big fan of VOR approach but I’ll still give you a 5 for being there.
My favorite VORTAC. I personally am a big fan of the specific tone that it emits with the morse code. I listen to it all day on a handheld at my house. Helps me go to bed in the evenings.
Seal Beach VORTAC has always been a personal favorite. It is there when you need it - flying along V8, coming back from Catalina, or shooting the VOR-A into KFUL.
SLI is hands-down the best VORTAC to utilize in the LA basin. You won't catch me navigating with other VORs when I shoot the ILS 30 into KLGB.
Note: Some days out of the year, the SLI VORTAC is out of service. And as another reviewer has mentioned, the VOR is almost useless when you're directly overhead. But other times, it's great.
