Restaurant Sealegs reviews
20Good service, food was better than average for airport. 18% added gratuity has become all too common and unavoidable. It’s an airport, not an outside restaurant, people need to adjust their expectations….
The receipt says "suggested tip " yet they automatically charge my card 18% on 2 drinks. I involuntarily approve it
Very unethical practice and should get away with this. I will have my CC dispute the tip charge.
Charging $3 for some hot water to heat up my infants bottle after our flight was delayed 13 hours due to Delta. Low life people. Server was extremely rude
Avoid at all costs. Predatory and misleading pricing. Smug service when they steal money and you ask for an accounting.
Small sign saying an automatic 18% tip on all transactions. Service was bad and the server was rude and standing on her phone checking her email and texts while we sat there waiting to order food. Decided not to and then left after one glass of wine. Normally tips are not an issue but when you are forced to tip 18% for bad service it’s not right.
Extraordinarily poor service. Ignored by staff, who were busy texting and disappearing, leaving the bar unattended. Went to another bar across the terminal.
How is it possible that a bar located in a busy terminal only has one bar tender working while the other two helper’s act busy. Horrible customer service!
The service sux ballz. Worst restaurant experience, worst retail experience in LAX. They charge you 18% for gratuity automatically. (Not grateful by any means). They ask for another 18 % in additional tip. (39% of your food and drinks aggregate). Yeah, right. Total waste of time and money.
The mood is generally very happy at the airport which is why I love making LAX my second home. However, the service at Sealegs is terrible. It is difficult to even order a drink (although not very busy). Even worse, I asked politely for a water with my alcoholic beverage, and the server told me that there is a water fountain near the restroom and obviously ignored my request. I understand bad days but the level of service here was absolutely terrible and I'd highly recommend that you avoid this place and head to Barney's where the bartenders are always enjoyable and so much fun.
Way overpriced, tiny portions, terrible service. Food was bad. Wish I could give zero stars. Do not bother with this place.
Really bad service by the bartender Michael, 05/07/2023 7: 30am, my family of three (Latinos) we were waiting for about 30min and they did not even ask if wanted to ordered breakfast or a drink, it gives service to other people come after us, even after my wife asked him if we will have to order food with him or someone else was going serve us. It looks like the guy is racist to Latinos.
Wish I had read Michael's review before we sat down. 2 nips and 2 beers and yes 18 percent tip which I would not have given for the poor service and yes $64 dollars for 4 drinks. In Australia that is $100. I can buy 10 rounds at my local for that and alcohol is far cheaper in USA than Australia to buy at a store. At Brisbane airport 2 rounds 4 drinks is $50 not 100.
Server / bar tender started with…
“You need to buy something to sit here…”
So I left. Maybe next time start with, “good morning what would you like to have today? Here is the menu…
smile. Life is too short to be like this to others.

Another overpriced and understaffed airport bar. But they have chargers around the bar, so I guess that's a plus.
Horrible prices and horrible service!
I was stressed out because I realized I left my phone in Asia, so I came here to get a drink. Despite my stress, I was sure to be polite. I ordered a glass of water and 2 shots of captain morgan rum, and the bartender didn't ask if I wanted a glass vs shots or with/without ice. Whatever. It comes warm in a glass, so I drink it. The bartender provides the bill automatically with the drink, though I noticed he didn't assume other patrons there wanted a bill after one drink. Anyway, I look at the bills and it's 32$. 16$ per shot of cheap rum. I can get a whole bottle of that for 16$. So I pay the bill and ask for another glass of water (free) since the one wasn't enough to chase the drink. He gives me a glass and I take a drink. He gave me seltzer water this time. When I take a closer look at the glass, the water looks kinda brownish. I got the strong impression this rude bartender was trying to get rid of me, and it worked. I left without saying another word. I don't know why this bartender was treating me differently, but I felt insulted and worried he did something gross to my drink. I came here to relieve stress and got more stressed out! Definitely not coming back to this bar.
Food was ok.the usual overpriced bland airport food. This restaurant automatically gives itself an 18% gratuity for the "[customer's] convenience. " Giving yourself an automatic tip is an INconvenience to a customer, not a convenience. They don't have a sign or anything anywhere to let you know before ordering that you HAVE TO pay the additional 18%. It's a rip off to customers! Was the service great? Not at all. I didn't even receive my food yet and I was immediately given the bill. I was rushed by the waiter to sign the check while eating, not long after the food arrived. The drink menu doesn't have any prices listed, so they charge you whatever they want. This was near my gate, so I gave them my business but I wouldn't do it again.
Service was great. I sat down and the bar tender immediately came over and asked wat I would like. I requested wine. 2 glasses and $54 later I got the bill. $8 tip was automatically added to the bill for my convenience. When a server in a restaurant takes care of our table for an hour and earns 18+% I'm happy to tip the server. When someone earns 18% spending 30 seconds pouring 2 glasses of wine, it's more a kin to "we don't pay our staff enough so you have to"
4 Stars due to the prices being quite high even for an airport bar/restaurant. While most of the reviews are negative, I found the staff to be very pleasant, the chicken salad was very good, and the service was great. As LAX doesn't have Priority Pass options, I'd be happy to pop back in if flying with Delta at LAX again!
Overpriced, terrible service and yet they already add the 18% gratuity regardless. I was a party of 1.
The "mulita" (like a quesadilla) was minuscule. 1 of those + a beer and tip was $38!
The WORST!
The service was horrible, the food was even worse! We ordered two of what they called a “smash burger” with Mayo.
When the server/bartender brought it to us, he stated that they were out of mayo,
Well… it didn’t matter because mayo would not have helped that disgusting over cooked burger with the burnt smashed bun on top. Not just one burger was that way, but both burgers were that way. The burgers came with potato wedges that tasted like they had been soaked in cold grease. We took two bites of it and that’s about the most we could stand.
We sat there in disgust drinking the two sodas and looking for someone to return the disgusting food to.
A different person walked over to our table after noticing the food wasn’t ate.
The lady that walked over I politely started to explain to her that, this was the worst food ever…
that the potatoes were greasy and cold and that the burger was like a hockey puck, and that you could clearly see that the buns are burnt! The lady never once showed any interest in what I was saying about the food instead, she took the plates and walked to the bar and dumped them in the trash and then returned with the bill. $66.32
For two burgers and two sodas.
With and additional 18% gratuity added to the bill. I asked to speak to the manager, and he stated that, he would meet us halfway and take off one of the burgers but that’s all he could do.
This is by far one of the worst food experiences we’ve had In a very long time. BTW… they actually charged our card twice! “BEWARE OF SEA LEGS restaurant LAX” read the reviews before you go there for sure!
