I'll speak candidly about the poor experience I had with whom I believe is the shop owner. Following a purchase of rather expensive tubeless tires and paying the parts and labor for the tire swap on my Niner gravel, the tires failed to maintain pressure. This condition persisted for several weeks at which time I brought the bike back and was met with strong resistance over their decision to charge full price for parts (sealant) and labor to correct the problem. I was treated like a 'dumb customer' who didn't understand that tubeless tires may, or may not, maintain sealant and pressure. Yet, the DT Swiss wheel set is designed for tubeless tires and the previous tires never had a problem like that. After spending over $200 on tires and the install, the owner rudely pointed out "I have to make money somehow" as justification for charging me twice for what most experienced mechanics would only have to do once. He also suggested that it was my responsibility to watch the tires after installation, as though watching them has any bearing on whether or not they were mounted and sealed correctly. He seemed to have no regard for the fact I had spent close to $50 and then another $38 for installing a pair of constantly flat tires. The expectation isn't for you to guarantee your labor, it's that you stand behind it and at least try to offer the customer a reasonable solution - which you didn't. Good luck with your policy on that: (

Way overpriced and service isn't great. They charged me for something I didn't buy and it took 3 weeks of calling them to get it fixed (and I was given some attitude when it finally happened).

Awesome little bike/rental shop! The bike was $40, it was a hybrid, and it rode like a dream. Highly recommend going out to the coast through Russian river if you've got the legs for the ride, it was a lot of fun. Check their website for fun routes.

So - my friend and I left Sacramento early to do a training ride for the upcoming Gran Fondo- we drove to Occidental, and shortly after we got started, my gears started making clicking noises and shifted on their own. I tried to adjust my Di2 derailleur through the junction box and it was not working. Recalling similar symptoms during a Wine Country Century five or so years ago, I remembered having the hangar straightened at a rest stop during the ride. The mechanic told me he did not have the right tool with him, but could try doing it by eye - never had a problem again, and it was such a relief.

So, back to the present day. The only bike shop open that was in the general area was Sebastopol Bike Center. I called the store and the person who answered said there was a mechanic on duty. So we drove there, and the gentleman in the shop put my bike on a stand and fixed it in three minutes! He walked out to the car with us and we are about to part ways, so I asked his name. "Denver, " he said. I looked at him again - and remembered that he was the same guy who fixed my bike during the Wine Country Century. When I told him, he said he was thinking about that while he was fixing my bike, and immediately remembered it was me! Small freaking world!

He's such a nice guy and does great work. If I lived closer, he'd be my regular mechanic.

And, my friend and I were still able to get our entire training ride in! Thanks, Denver!

Lots of money spent on something I could do myself and no consent was given for the work. Also the issue I came with was still there when I got the bike back, but I got charged $100 for something I never asked him to do, and i could do myself.

I want to support local businesses; this was very disappointing.

I've meant to review this wonderful shop for ages, feel guilty! Today was like so many other visits: had an urgent issue and they took me in immediately and sorted me out. Huge thanks to Gino who has helped me like this SO many times, as has Denver the owner. They are always so friendly and have never failed to solve my problem quickly & efficiently. I feel so lucky to have a skilled LBS near me, especially one that always shows so much compassion to riders who need repairs quickly. Please give them your business for parts and service, you will not be disappointed!
