I don't know what exactly they did with my pup at SF Puppy Prep, but I got two valuable things out of their service: 1) Time away from a rambunctious and intense Aussie puppy to manage my own life and 2) A well-adjusted, social dog as he has grown up.

I can tell you that he absolutely LOVED coming here and still tries to go inside when we walk past. He is about 1.5 years old now, and while he is absolutely a handful, one problem he doesn't have is getting scared of random noises, people, or other dogs. Highly recommend this service if you have a new puppy and can afford it.

I went to a Tuesday puppy social with my dog who hasn't been socialized with other pups, yet. The staff were very responsible and made sure my dog was progressing in her confidence. Would absolutely recommend the puppy socials.

I have huge gratitude and thanks for all the staff that worked with our puppy Coco.
Coco initially was quite fearful in public of any other people and especially other dogs.

After an initial Google search was unsuccessful, I tried again a few weeks later and thankfully found SF Puppy Prep. We started out with a puppy social event and as predicted Coco hid near us and was very apprehensive about playing with any of the other puppies. One of the trainers suggested that Coco would benefit from puppy school.

And so it began. We started with the twelve sessions and decided to see how she would progress.

We got her to puppy school as they opened at 7.30AM (as suggested by Puppy Prep staff) so that she wouldn't need to deal with the apprehension of lots of other dogs. She was usually one of the first in the door. The briefings at the end of every day were invaluable and allowed us to understand how she did.

Progress is a journey and not a sprint. Every day we saw incremental progress and the progress added up. Coco started coming out of her shell. We reached a point at drop off in the morning when she was so happy to be at puppy prep - that she was almost jumping out of my arms to go and see who else was there.

Her twelve sessions soon came to completion. And then we extended the number of sessions by another eight taking it up to a total of twenty. It was tricky as Coco by now was very close to twenty weeks old, but she was behaving very well and were able to continue.

One afternoon when picking up Coco after school, we had one wonderful comment from Cass at Puppy Prep, when she said: ". Coco initially started out afraid of everything. Now the pendulum has swung all the way over and she is happy playing with any other dog of any size. "

Coco completed her twenty sessions and is now going on walks and is very comfortable around other dogs.

The SF Puppy Prep program was sensational and a huge success for Coco.

Additionally, one thing we found following training was that Coco became much more attentive, receptive and more open to training. We have been spending a lot of time teaching and Coco learning new tricks and modifying out the bad habits and Coco getting lots of treats.

One final and huge thank you to everyone at SF Puppy Prep - we would not have been able to get Coco to where she is without you - a huge and heartfelt thank you!
I would recommend SF Puppy Prep to anyone!

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the most important businesses in the city. They’re ability to teach young pups - and their humans - how to exist safely and happily in this particular urban environment is a true service to every citizen.

Mac, Erin and their team were spectacular when we first got our pup. He ended up getting quite sick before we were able to begin working with puppy prep and Erin was an incredible resource and support for us - she hadn’t even met our dog yet! She checked in every few days until he recovered, and was incredibly flexible in helping us adjust his start time and not miss critical socialization windows while he was tiny.

We later continued with Outdoor Education - their “graduate program” - and it was incredible to learn from Ellie and Erin’s intuition. They understand dogs so well! He was very sad when it was finally time to move on - he loves them so so much (very much more than us…)

Truly, our life with our dog would be dramatically different if it weren’t for puppy prep. We’re lucky they exist. There are no thanks sufficient enough.
