SFMTA - Union Square Garage reviews
14Lots of homeless people lurking around and so need to be careful at night. Other than that it's a nice place
My mom accidentally set off the car alarm and the attendant came to check out the situation very quickly. I did see a homeless person wandering around so don’t leave anything you like in the car. Much cheaper than other parking lots.
The fee is consistent with the information on the official website. It is no problem to park a large SUV, and you can pay by credit card.
Prices were surprisingly not bad! Parked for 3 hours while going on tours around San Fran!
No issues if you arrive before 11am on weekends parking is easy. Yes, it smells like human urine. Yes, it is not nice. But that smell is on most street corners these days.
It's an affordable parking garage by San Francisco standards. If you arrive a little earlier (around 9 a.m.), there are still plenty of parking spaces available. But then it fills up relatively quickly.
(2023.02 price) not bad place for parking, but no electric vehicle charging station in there.
Note a lot of the positive reviews are for the Union Square Park up top. The garage itself is pretty awful. Parking spots are not standard size. Some are clearly bigger than others. If a larger car parks next to you, you might have a hard time getting back into your car. It's expensive like everything else in SF.
Great place to park your vehicle. Lot's space. Easy access to get in to park your vehicle.
Good clean parking. Payed 4$ for a 45 minutes. Only bad thing that i wasn't able to get into a restroom, because door was locked. I don't know why, I had a code from a slip.
I park here everytime I come to this part of SF as it's got plenty of spaces, seems secure and reasonably priced. That said in the last year I've noticed a lot of homeless people living in the lower floors and a few dodgy characters doing drugs, not the safe place it used to be and would feel uncomfortable bring children here: (no security or staff to be seen either. SF get your act together!
Very conveniently located garage under Union Square. I have parked here many times during my visit to Union Square. Just like every where in the city recommend not leaving anything in the car. San Francisco is a notorious city for Car break ins.
It worked, paying with an international credit card became somewhat complex but it could finally be done.
I have parked here dozens of times and have never had a problem. The last couple of times I parked here, there were multiple people hiding out and camping on different levels. I also watched several characters that did not own a vehicle walking up and down and in between all levels, checking out vehicles. Sketchy. There are plenty of police around but not in the garage patrolling. ALWAYS hide ANYTHING of even the least value from sight when parking in the city. It's also a good idea to place valuables in your trunk BEFORE you park at your destination because thieves are watching and will take note!
