Sheldon's Service Station, La Mesa CA

Order at the counter and find your seat. Was busy on a Saturday morning around 11, but we found a table right away. We shared a salad and sandwich. The salad was the winner, but both items were good.

Incredible coffee! They serve Cafe Motto which is always delicious. They also have the tastiest chocolate muffin I have ever had. The lavender infused latte and iced mocha are also Incredible! I was slightly disappointed by the sweet potato soup, it was more of an average vegetable soup. The veggie sandwich and hashbrowns were both very fresh and tasty! Great service as well! Very reasonable prices!

We love coming here for breakfast on the weekends. The updated outdoor seating area sure has a different vibe.

Love this corner-bistro style coffee shop. The service was amazing, thank you Katie (spelled the right way), and the honey lavender oat milk latte was great. Wish I had come hungry, but I will definitely be back to try at least the lemon poppy seed muffin. Oh and they have the most charming covered patio.

I’ve been to this place 10+ times when I’m in town for business and visiting my family in La Mesa. For drinks, I’ve only tried their black coffee which is pretty decent. I’ve had a few of their breakfast items like muffins, eggs, bacon & egg benedict.

I would say their food is decent but lacks a little seasoning on some items. The scrambled eggs definitely needed to be seasoned. The Benedict - no complaints.

Service here has always been solid with a friendly staff.

The remodel looks very nice. The price of food is still a bit high. However, when I went in the other day the service was very quick and they are always friendly.

Sheldon's is such a classic La Mesa institution and terrific place for breakfast, lunch or whatever. I stopped out early Sunday morning to catch them before the line grows and it was already humming at 7AM with dogs and peeps. The menu is great and specials are such a treat and so inventive. I ordered the chorizo bowl - next time I'll remember to add guacamole - got my son the short rib eggs benedict (super yum!) and hubby got french toast off the kids menu. Everything was delicious! There was so much food in the chorizo bowl it took me through 2 meals even with generous sharing. Can hardly wait for our next outing to Sheldon's!

Super nice little spot. Great patio area. The Benny special with smoked salmon was great and my daughter loved their chocolate muffin. Will be going back!

Really great outdoor cafe for breakfast and lunch. A good place to hang out and grab a cup of coffee and a sandwich.

This is a super cute little Cafe with the most delicious food. I've never had a sculpture made out of my bagel before and it tasted as good as it looked. Come early if you don't want them to run out of the specials, I came within an hour of closing so I missed some delicious homemade items.

The cutest little nook to grab a coffee and relax on their porch! I love coming here in the spring/summer time

1st time here. Well worth the visit. Great food. Interesting menu choices. Lots of coffee varieties. Friendly smiling staff. Strictly outdoor seating. Not really an issue.

A great cup of espresso and even better service. I got the breakfast burrito and it was hearty and delicious.

So fresh and everything made with care too.
Salads are so good & sandwiches are my favorite and the coffee is so strong its been my go-to everytime Im in the area
