Shelter Island Boat Ramp reviews
18Beautiful ramp well maintained I love to load here and unload as well very calm protected and safe!
Each weekend there are pop-up artists. Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy San Diego Bay and Shelter Island Art.
Walked the shoreline and came across this huge boat launch, large enough for 8 boats and also piers to dock temporarily. Watched several boats launch and get trailered very entertaining. There is about a one mile paved walkway along the shire many people using it. Enjoyed the location much and watching tge boats go out to sea.
If you love the water, this is the place to be. My family comes here almost weekly to picnic, watch boats, ships and military aircraft go by. Big grass area for kids soccer play. Handicap parking and nearby bathrooms a plus. A great family location.
Always nice and relaxing we actually went here last Sunday to watch the boat light parade.
Shelter Island is so relaxing and never busy and crowded. With beautiful views of the city and everything passing by from kayakers to military ships.
More dock space than years ago but still a very narrow entrance. Returning boaters must show courtesy and line up outside when busy.
Very nice place to stay or visit right in the heart of San Diego. You can even find parking over here most of the time. The hotels charge for parking but there is parking available freely even at night across the road.
Extremely well maintained and conveniently located with wide access for all sizes of sea faring vessels & water craft alike
Really fun to watch birds, pelicans, boaters and fishers coming and going. Bathrooms & Outboard motor club nearby, next pier has dining!
Good place to look for seals and watch the fishing boats launch. Nice view of San Diego and Coronado.
Members of OBC are on ramp duty. Saturday's an Sunday's to keep the ramp running smoothly!
This place is fantastic. It is pretty much the only game in town but that did not stop them from being awesome. Plenty of room tow and launch your boat. Deep water, protected from the wind. It is great I highly recommend it if you have to put a boat in the water.
Walking at shelter island enjoyed checking out the view from boat ramp. Watched the crane. Very relaxing day off work. Highly recommend
Best launch for bay or Ocean adventures. Boats under 20ft should have no problems. Close to bait barge when leaving bay.
With docks placed away from the ramp, launching, and especially retrieving, is much more difficult and dangerous. With a recent large rebuild they had an opportunity to fix this defect. But didn't.
There were a lot of beautiful boats I would have loved to take a picture of. Something to look forward to doing when this pandemic is over.
Awesome launch with epic views. This has a public dock with a clean restroom while you are out on San Diego bay. I docked here to wait for a friend and decided to take pictures of out Freedom Boat Club boat and the area. Coming from Michigan, I was very impressed.
