Road to Trailhead is in good shape, rocky but drivable with 2 wheel drive. Actual trail is in good condition except for the last 1/2 mile. That said it is a very long hot climb, start early

Rocky road on the way up to the parking area. Take it slow and you'll be fine

This trail is endless and whoever built it probably hates humanity because it keeps going up and down. If you think mt. Whitney trail come here and you will change your mind. That said, you can access a bunch of cool peaks from this TH (Tyndall, Williamson, Polychrome, etc), so the reward is worth suffering.

From the Onion Valley Road (asphalt) take the Foothill Rd (gravel/ dirt) left for 4.7 miles to trailhead. High clearance vehicles will fair better. Plenty of parking at TH, no shade or water.

This is a relatively clean bare-bones trailhead with 2 bear boxes and a kiosk map. No restrooms or trash receptacles. Parking can get crowded. Ample signage guides you there after the paved road. Please pack out your garbage!
