Aside from the parking and resort fees, the hotel has a lot of nice amenities, family friendly. They had complimentary s'mores at night. The bed was pretty stiff, not too comfortable.

Location only gets 4 stars as it's jussssst beyond walking distance for Balboa Park and the Gaslight district, but for what was an expensive time to visit, rooms were great value and still close enough to the city to make life easy. Hotel rooms were clean and spacious and they are renovating the remainder of old rooms.
Check in service was quick and easy

Nice rooms since renovations but a poorly managed hotel. Room wasn't ready at 4pm, requested a baby crib and only received it after calling guest services 3 times. Asked for some bottled water but had to call 2 more times and finally received it 3hrs later. The excuse guest services gave was there are lots of people at the hotel. I wouldn't stay again for the money.

I was on vacation and wanted to get a room close to my friends traveling and wasn't able to at this location. Then the room I was in was next to a staircase and had traffic out of it all times of the day. On the last day there was a water outage, and it was shut off from 9 am for a few hours. There appears to be construction going on but wasn't aware of it till I arrived.

Great location and nice rooms/view.
We did have an issue with the independent bicycle rental, but the hotel made it right.

The team should certainly look into the immense negative reviews from genuine clients who stayed recently in the last few months, that speaks for itself. The team certainly needs hospitality training specially the frontdesk/ reception.

My experience: Being a bonvoy member you can check in through a mobile key with your app but what you don't get is the parking access.here is my situation:

1st day: I stopped my car in the bay and moved to the reception to let them know that I need to park and the access to parking is not available through mobile key, the guy in the reception said do not worry come down tomorrow morning and we will adjust the parking cost (47 dollars) for you, for now you can go ahead and park. I went ahead, took the receipt and parked.
Day 2: next day before taking my car out i walked up to reception and there was a lady at the reception who told me i will adjust it in the account, you wont get a refund in your card but it will show as credit in the account. I said good, that works and collected a manual key for parking for next days.
Day 3: I came to the reception and asked for a folio and saw no credit on the account and when asked the guy with long curly hair (tied back) in the reception said you have a service experience adjustment on the account and its taken care, i told him i don't see a credit yet, he rudely said it is on the account.
Day 3 night: I came to the reception again and the guy I met the first day was on the night shift, he said its still not adjusted and I will tkc of it, you come down before you leave tomorrow and it will b ready. I said fine and thanks.
Day 4 Departure: I come and see the guy with long curly hair (tied back) in the reception, told him it wasn't adjusted till now as per the guy who was in shift before you and I was asked to come early morning before departure. He said it was already adjusted and have told you. I told him, can you give a print our of my folio and see it yourself, he took the printout and argued that service experience adjustment is available and i should be able to see it, to which i said yes it is available as a charge and not a credit, to which he said it is not a charge. I asked him to sum all the numbers and thats when he found he is wrong and without letting me know, was doing the correction in the system, when asked said I am adjusting it now. I was surprised by the way he was responding to me and his tone and being so unapologetic about the mistake that he was finding hard to admit.

I never had to chase for a credit for 4 days and had to visit the front desk 4 times in a Marriot group of hotels ever. I also did not see font desk guys being courteous and being hospitable at all, it felt like I needed to beg and he is the customer and they keeping passing the buck to the next guy in the shift. Very dissatisfied with the way the front desk guy approached. I would not be visiting this hotel ever again. Def does not deserve more than 2 stars.

PS: Make them thorough with what is a charge and credit in your folio, that way the guest wont have to educate them on the basics.

Had a reservation for one night before returning to Europe. We selected to stay at the Sheraton because of it's location (close to the airport) have a very early flight tomorrow (7-4) at 5: 45 so really wanted a quiet room even for the few hours we would spend in the room.
We arrived at check in, a long line of people already waiting but with sufficient staff at multiple desks checking guests was done rapidly and efficiently. Everyone helping guests were calm and seemed eager to please their customers.
When our turn came, we were kindly greeted by Danny who listened to our request for a quiet room and offered us many options to ensure we had a great stay. Danny was so kind & patient and worked very hard to find us a good room for the night. Danny put us in a room on the 5th Floor at the end of the hallway, truly a fabulous room.
Thanks to Danny for his top notch customer service, Danny is definitively someone to recognize & reward for his awesome service. Employees of his caliber are SPECIAL and must be appreciated, Danny is a fabulous exemple of the 5 star Sheraton Marriot Bonvoy thrives to keep.
The room is very spacious, beautifully decorated with all the bells and whistles (automated drapes), large HD TV and very nice and comfortable bed. Bathroom is also equipped with all needed Toiletries.

The hotel is way overpriced and two many extra fees. Never understand why a hotel charges for parking. It's a hotel should come with it. Charging non guests, I understand, but guests and on top of that $50.

A nice property with stunning room views over the marina, well trained staff, and a decent F&B selection for dine-in.

I wasn’t too happy with the room service being more like a take-out or delivery service in a paper bag and disposable cutlery; but the food was good.

This was our first time at this hotel and we had a pleasant experience over the 4th of July holidays. The place was bustling and felt like Disneyland with the constant traffic of people. The layout of the hotel was a little confusing. There's 3 different towers - Lanai, Marine, and Bay. The Lanai is adjacent to the newly renovated Marine towers. The Bay tower is separate, further west along the island, but within walking distance.

We stayed in the Marine tower in a high floor room with a "skyline" view. This room affords views of the cityscape, Coronado bridge and some of Coronado Island. This is what I wanted: to view fireworks against the backdrop of downtown San Diego. There was also a fireworks barge in front of Harbor Island and close to the hotel but it not within line of sight from our balconey.

Our room was in good working order, including the mattress, shower, etc. We had no complaints EXCEPT there was very little sound proofing. There was a connecting door to the next room and when housekeeping was sweeping there, we could hear the bristles against the floor. It felt like there was no privacy and we kept trying to maintain our voices at a whisper.

The pools were in heavy use and we didn't partake, nor did we make use of the gym. The reception area was comfortable which we used when we waited for our room to be readied and there were many views, either of the marina or the bay to be admired. The lobby market offers Starbucks beverages, but at a markup. For July 4th, the hotel erected a large tent for guests who wanted to view the fireworks at the ground level.

Parking was well regulated but it looked like spaces in the main lot got filled up by the early afternoon. We didn't dare move our car on July 4th. The hotel provided a free shuttle to either end of Harbor Island where there are good restaurants. They also offer free bike rentals.

I read other concerning reviews about service, however, we only encountered professionalism from the staff including the parking attendants, reception, restaurant employees, etc. We were happy with our stay and would love to return.

The rooms were impressively clean and offered a satisfactory size. The bathrooms were spacious, immaculate, and boasted a modern design. The flooring with grout had an appealing appearance, although it had a tendency to accumulate debris within the grout lines, which made me quite meticulous about cleanliness during showers.

The hotel provided wonderful views, particularly for aviation enthusiasts who enjoyed being in proximity to the airport and observing planes landing and taking off. Surprisingly, the airport noise was negligible when the patio door was closed. The patio itself afforded magnificent vistas of the city and marina.

Although I had a few reservations, such as the absence of complimentary breakfast and the steep $50 fee for self-parking, the fitness area was decent, and the pool was enjoyable. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, providing a heavenly sleeping experience. If the price were reduced by a third, self-parking was complimentary, and a free full breakfast was included.

Nice place to stay at. Polite and kind staff, nice marina behind the hotel. Pleasant place to walk and enjoy the view.

Be careful when booking that you don’t wind up in the bay tower. When you first navigate to the hotel, you’ll probably think “yes, this is nice, and looks like it justifies the cost. ” Unfortunately the website isn’t clear that this is actually two separate hotels, wildly different in quality (but remarkably similar in price). The bay tower is around the corner from the big resort hotel. The rooms are incredibly dated, and in ours none of the power outlets worked because they were so worn out. I absolutely would not stay here again.

Edit: I submitted this before checking out, which means I didn’t get to include the bathroom experience. Setting aside the lights being blindingly bright with no alternative at night time, they’re on a timer with no way to not be timed. So they’ll shut off when you’re in the middle of a shower, leaving you in pitch black (try not to slip). The bathroom also doesn’t have an exhaust fan, so when showering the entire bathroom tile floor gets super slick (try not to slip!).

Lots of issues with this place and avoid. Location is great but everything else sucks!
1. They made me wait for 30 mins to check in and most staff was behind. Only 2 desks open out of 7-8
2.parking is ridiculously expensive $47 per day
3. They assigned a room that is not even cleaned. That tells you about service you can expect here

My Girlfriend and I stopped there for a few hours while waiting for our flight time. We ate at the restaurant inside and just to the right when you walk in. We ordered a pizza first which was the worst tasting I’ve ever had by far especially from a quality type hotel, then we ordered French fries figured that can ruin them but turned out the worst fries ever also super disappointed with the experience at the restaurant if I could give it 0 stars I would.

Stayed in a renovated room. They've done a great job on the remodel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Must be the older hotel. 3 story next to the larger Sheraton building. $47 to park. Drinks were $10 to $20. Room was missed one day from being cleaned, towels, etc. Everything was super expensive. Thin walls, lots of noise. I think we would consider the Hilton down the way if we go back.

Renovated rooms are nice. We had to switch a few times as lower rooms you can hear the pool and the construction.
Service - let’s just say they don’t go above minimum effort. As a lifetime Titanium elite - it was a fine property but they could be really good with some managerial and hospitality training. Wouldn’t even let you use a luggage cart although there were 4 sitting there. Might as well stay at a Courtyard for the service - definitely not meeting their self proclaimed “resort” level of expectation.
