Shik Do Rak Restaurant, Irvine CA

Pretty sad to see this place being deleted from my list of favorite restaurants. The quality of meat is subpar and their signature hot sauce isn't what it used to be.

Great experience with all you can eat: very quick in bringing out ordered items. Decent variety of options including other side dishes such as steamed egg and spicy Tofu soup. Had one weird instance where they mistakenly took the food still on the grill when doing a grill change but good service otherwise.

I was so excited to go there but after we cooked our first meat - Beed Briskets, I was disappointed with the quality, and the smell of the beef was so strong and unpleasant. I gave another chance to Pork Belly. The cut was thick and after cooking it was so chewy. Unfortunately, this place was the worst Korean BBQ I’ve ever been. The quality of meat is bad there. I definitely not coming back.

The All You Can Eat menu was a lot of fun for us. The service was excellent, the meat was excellent, and you can't get the lowest menu on the weekends.
The short rib steaks shown are fantastic.

I was a bit surprised that this place is actually good. I wasn't down to wait in line for Baekjeong and I didn't want to drive to GG or Buena Park for AYCE so I gave this place a shot. And oh boy. I was surprised. This place actually offered a good meat quality and their service was great.

We went out to dinner for a friend’s birthday. We were originally supposed to go to Tomikawa for sushi but they didn’t take reservations and it was waitlist only. The wait for Tomikawa was 2+ hours. I came to realize we tried to go eat sushi on Good Friday when everyone else was looking for meat alternatives for dining. This is where Plan B and Shik Do Rak Irvine comes into play which was only a block away. Having always had good dining experiences at Shik Do Rak I suggested it as an alternative restaurant.

Luckily our big party was able to get seated promptly (thinking Good Friday had something to do with it obviously). Plan B choices aren’t necessarily a bad thing because we were all very happy with our change in dining venues. I’ve been going to Shik Do Rak for almost close to 2 decades and the food and service never disappoints. Servers are friendly and attentive and take care of all of our dining needs and requests. Food is always consistently good. We all left with happy hearts, as well as with happy and full stomachs.

This is my favorite KBBQ place. The service is excellent with really attentive wait staff, and the food is always consistently fantastic.

Fair price for all you can eat Korean BBQ.
Good bulgogi and pork cheek, nothing special on the brisket and beef tongue.
Staff were helpful and quick.
Cheaper option available during lunch and late night visit.

This place is not really good the food and is very expensive. The servers are polite. I don't really recommend this restaurant. And the floors are so slippery the people has to be very careful.

Place is busy. Expect traffic and less talking at this place. Dont expect friendliness either, because staff are busy and its just their way to do their zoomies here and there, so dont get all offended

If you’re looking for a fancy place, this is not the place. Tables are old, they have electric tape on the table and Im not quite sure why. Still good food and its a fast service.

I’ve eaten at a lot of KBBQ places including a lot in Korea and this is by far the worst meat quality I’ve ever had. Dry and insanely hard to chew. For all you can eat they give you giant meat portions for us 2 people so we only ordered 6 different meat orders and had way too much low quality meat to finish so they charged us a fee on top of that. Service was average. Do not recommend.

I've come here a couple times, while I lived in Irvine, they always had pretty great service and is also across from 7 leaves which is really nice.

Huge shoutout to the server named “Brad. ” Brad was super quick at serving our food and was also really nice. He made sure we had a good time at Shik do Rak! Having a server like Brad is what makes eating at restaurants a great experience!

The WORST restaurant I have ever been to. Service was terrible, food was terrible and extremely expensive. Our grill was burning and food was sizzling and no one to help.

Come here 2-3 times a month and live this place. Staff is friendly and very reasonably priced. Wait time can be long but definitely worth the wait. I drive past 3-4 Korean bbq places. Definitely worth the drive. Will continue to come back! Thank you.

The Hispanic server with dyed hair and earrings was very rude and got confrontational just cause I couldn’t tip this time, he kept insisting and arguing that I should have tipped. The manager said he will have a talk with him but that’s not enough, he knows what he did was wrong but didn’t care and so he should be fired. Update: the manager didn’t do anything and the guy is still working there, I don’t recommend this place to anyone as their very unprofessional and don’t deserve to be in business. I can see why they have a 4.2 rating.

This place ruined my vacation. Gave me food poisoning and I had to cancel Universal. You might say, "it's your fault, you didn't cook it correctly" You'd be right but I am going to blame them anyways. You might say "Universal sucks and is a tourist trap". Again you're probably right but you're a square and no one likes you. The food and service was good but my nausea and fever was better.

We ordered the cheapest option, which I think is $25 per person. We tried the brisket, hot pepper paste pork belly, and beef belly. The brisket was good, pepper pork belly wasn't marinated enough and had too much fat compared to the meat portion. Same for the beef belly. The side menus of bean paste stew and soft tofu soup were salty and thick. If I come back, I'll eat just the brisket.

We had a great time with the All You Can Eat menu. On weekends you can't get the cheapest menu, but $30 each was fine, the meat was great, and the service was great as well. A lot of Korean BBQs will slack on service so you don't get too much, but Shik Do Rak was attentive and brought us plates until we couldn't eat any more.
