Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen - Fountain Valley reviews
14Pretty good ramen and Japanese curry in a perfect little ramen shop. Fully customizable with lots of toppings, sides, and appetizers to make sure you get it exactly how you want it. Nice to be able to sit at the bar or grab a small table, but don't bother trying to come here with a large group. Nice view of the clean kitchen and enjoyable ambiance. We came when it opened, so we had no problem getting seats, and people starting trickling in shortly thereafter.
Nice service and good food. My only complaint is I wish I had ordered a larger size beef bowl. It was so good it was gone too fast.
Service was great. Restaurant was cozy and clean. Food however was below expectations and average. If you are 30min away, forget about it.
Probably the best ramen in LA/OC. I’ve been to this and their Gardena locations several times without disappointment.
Extremely disappointed. Placed a order with confirmation and got there, but they didn't have the food.have to wait another 20
mins. First time eating here and last!
THEY KEEP MESSING UP MY ORDERS.that said, the food is great and quality is consistent.
BUT STOP MESSING UP MY ORDERS PLEASE.
The best place for hakata ramen. My favorite this is that you can customize to your liking. You choose the way your noodle is cooked, the amount of oil and the strength of the soup. You also get too choose if you want additional items or remove some of the items. The best part is that it is so inexpensive for such a good meal. The restaurant itself is small with about 6 tables and bar style sitting. Walking in here feels a bit claustrophobic. But I don't mind you can always order takeout. For 2 people we spent about $60 and we had 2 reg. Sized ramen, extra noodle, 3 beers, gyoza, edamame, and a new banana tempura dessert so we had lots of food for so little. Def. Recommend.
First let me start of by saying i love this place i think they make some of the best ramen in so cal. Im giving a poor review because i have to be honest your bathroom smells like death and this is an on going problem. I have been eating at this location for about 6 years and over the last year i have come in a few times and the restrooms smell was so bad i could taste it across the other side of the restaurant. Either the land lord needs to fix this or you as a restaurant group need to step it up because this is unacceptable. To be clear this smells like a sewage issue from the pipes
My favorite ramen store in OC.
The broth is delicious, we can choose the exact way we like the noodles cooked (from firm to very soft), select the level of spice, what veggies.
The little gyozas that goes with the set are also delicious.
One critic, the eggs at $3.20 each are really too expensive.
We haven't been here since COVID and were able to stop by. Tuesday night, we were promptly greeted and sat down. Staff were friendly and took our order.we didn't pay attention to the special hours and set didn't apply. Waitress pointed it out and we were going to order a la carte, but a whole lot more food. So we ordered the ramen bowls with side of fried rice. We appreciate her honesty and we tipped accordingly. Definitely a must.
Delicious ramen, great service and memorably authentic. Traditional Japanese welcome on arrival, worth the wait to get it. Recommended to anyone that likes Japanese food.
Always hits the spot. From customizable bowls of hakata ramen to the sides. Karaage chicken is on point.
Ordered $25 ramen bowl from Uber eats. Got a quarter size of pork, lousy noodles and decent broth. Total rip off!
My favorite ramen chain in SoCal. I'll review all their locations cause it's worth it. Cheapest bowls of ramen and very rich and clean. Authentic feel to the atmosphere and staff. Always go during lunch for no crowds and great lunch combos. This spot has iced oolong tea which is great.
