Shin-Sen-Gumi Yakitori & Chanko Gardena reviews
19 Love the energy of this Japanese yakitori spot! If you like grilled meat on skewers this place is for you.
The kobe style beef and the crab croquettes are must try dishes here.
Ooishi! Now this is a Yakitori-ya. Food was awesome - they had Garlic skewers too! Emma- san was really awesome … very attentive. Wish I could give a 10! This I now officially my go to Yakitori ya in LA. Sorry no pics of the Yakitori … so yummy we finished it before I could take pics
It feels like a yakitori izakaya.
It's reasonable and has a variety of menus, so if you're nearby, I think it's one of the options at Livery.
I always love to visit when in in town. The food is good and fresh and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm back in Japan. Absolutely worth it
Sat on the Yakitora half of the restaurant.
Some of the food was very good, some of it was just okay. For example the flat beef & pork belly were very good, but some of the takoyaki didn't have octopus inside the ball. Groyza was good, but the buttered potato was odd to eat with chopsticks.
Service was very fast!
Atmosphere was very well decorated, but the tables were wobbly.
Overall going to visit again for lunch date, or when craving a particular skewer.
I have not been here for about a year. With inflation, prices went up but the food are still good, high quality and awesome customer services. I would highly recommend this place to those that have not been here and wanted to try yakitori.
Very happy with this restaurant!
We visited it on Halloween, the restaurant was busy, but there were a couple of seats for my husband and I a man in a panda costume met us and led us to the table.
The food was prepared quite quickly, the Ramen tasted amazing, there was a sufficient amount of meat and a large portion of soup
Kinoko salad - best best best
I removed one star for service because the shrimp we ordered were not included in the order and we had to wait for them to be made.
We will definitely come again
One of the best places to eat yakitory.portions kinda small compared to other places but still really good. Service was also really good
Everything a yakitori place should be.the smell of charcoal, plenty of bar seating, and an attentive and helpful staff.a classic paper menu with items separated by category and type.extremely smooth and pleasant experience.would highly recommend the spicy cucumber salad as a cold dish to pair with your skewers. Like all yakitori places, the prices can add up pretty fast so this definitely isn't a spot for the price conscious. However, in my opinion everything is pretty reasonably priced and is competitive with other yakitori places.
Great spot for yakitori. The Kobe beef was excellent. Chicken liver and pork belly were also good. Service was great, atmosphere too. Gets busy later in the evening, so go early for little to no wait.
Always a must go when in L A. They don't take reservations, and it's 1st come, but well worth it. The grilled intestines are the best.
Next level flavors and attention to detail. Prepare to spend in order to be full but sometimes it’s about quality and not quantity. The fun atmosphere, great service, and delicious food makes eating here my favorite dining experience. Pro Tip: Order a beer and ask for a cheers.
I fell in love with this restaurant. Every server here was amiable. The food was incredible. I have tried 25+ foods. All of them tasted good. This place was affordable. I really love the energy that the employees had. I will definitely visit here again.
Great food, definitely the better izakayas around. Heart was soft and not chewy, liver was tender and didn't have any weird taste. Ochazuke was flavorful
Hole in the wall Japanese grill. It can get pricey if you order a lot of small beef skewers. All the food is delicious, didn’t try anything I didn’t love
A very utilitarian shop so do not expect any fancy but the yakitori is awesome and the service is fast.
Shinsengumi here in Gardena Plaza specializes in yakitori, but this Plaza has many Japanese restaurants.
The atmosphere is just like that of a Japanese yakitori restaurant, so you can order with confidence.
I think the price is reasonable for the Los Angeles area.
Love this place. Great authentic yakitori. Meatball and chicken thighs. Make sure you get is with the sauce. Yummy.
All the food was excellent and would highly recommend. My favorite skewer is probably the Enoki Mushroom w/ Pork Belly, but a close second would Chicken Thigh w/ Green Onion. All the beef skewers were delicious, but surprising the Beef Flap Meat (cheapest beef) was probably my favorite beef one, and economical too.
The staff and service was nice and fun too. Definitely grab some people with you and try as much as you can off the menu.
