Shirla is a trusted colleague who I have the opportunity to volunteer and train with through the California Association for Play Therapy. She is an experienced play therapist who works with teens and adults - young and old - who still want to play!

Shirla is a wonderful colleague whom clients often find very easy to talk to. She utilizes a playful approach and has helped many kids, teens and adults achieve their goals and live happier lives. She currently focuses mostly on working with teens and adults.

I have known Shirla professionally for years. She has been an inspiration to me, and I have learned a lot from her. She's a leader and an expert in her field. Her approach is very compassionated, and I love it that she works with people from an in-depth perspective so that healing can happen from the inside out.

I met Shirla in 2005 while she was invested in creating the San Diego Chapter of the California Association for Play Therapy (CAPT). Shirla is the founder of the San Diego chapter of our Association and her commitment and dedication to the Play Therapy Community can’t be underestimated. She is currently a Board Member and Advisor for the UCSD Extension Play Therapy Certificate Program.
Since then, we have been close colleagues participating in consultation groups, community events, professional enrichment activities, and working collaboratively on many complex cases.
