Shorehouse Kitchen reviews
19Visiting San Diego, got brunch here. Wait time was 20 mins but is close enough to shops and the beach to pass the time. Our waitress G was great. Our food was taking longer than expected, we didn’t complain at all, but G brought us a free peach dessert and also comped our entire meal. Food and service was great!
Our fav little local breakfast spot
It’s a popular, so don’t be shocked with a waitlist. Give yourself wiggle room for parking/waitlist. Get a coffee take a walk to the beach and back. Love the hash browns, açaí, and pancakes, especially the Malahat Caribbean coffee drink!
Great little restaurant right near the water. Food was awesome. Service was awesome. We ordered the 2 eggs with toast and a side of bacon, tall stack with bananas and strawberries, and açaí bowl with Greek yogurt. We would go back.
Nice menu, has everything you could want for breakfast. I got a carnitas benedict over cornbread and it was tasty, but could have used more pork. Also the lavender honey coffee is a unique cup of coffee. My girlfriend ended up drinking most of it before I could.
Stopped by today for takeout brunch- worth the stop! Great taste and customer service, look forward to returning! We got chai, cold brew, chicken sandwich and scramble:) always love their housemade coconut milk! Breakfast burrito is one of the better things on the menu and cheapest!
Wonderful location. Outdoor with some indoor seating. Very good breakfast menu, with good Good options. Mimosas are pretty Good
We ordered mango? Pancakes and Guava syrup. Sheeeeesh! Those were good! Made our return to SD/LA Jolla a Joy! Also a block or two away from the shore! Really easy entrance and lovely people at the beach ️ instructors for Kayaking everywhere. Such a great day and it started here!
This is our go to for breakfast when we are in La Jolla. Give yourself some time as the wait list can be a little long, but their yelp system lets you see your place in line.
The food was great and the server was very friendly and accommodating. We love the outdoor patio area and the relaxed atmosphere
There was a long line outside but thank god we had a reservation. Waited about 5-10 minutes then got our table. Ordered Caramelized Tahitian Vanilla Bean French Toast and Angus Short Rib/Hash Brown Potato Cakes. Also I got the Ibarra Mexican Mocha. Both dishes were really good but definitely could have added more to the portion! Overall good place!
I had higher expectations about this place, since all the reviews were well. But the food had ABSOLUTELY NO flavor. And the food was below average. We waited over 45min for the food to come out and it was all cold. The only good thing was the customer service if even that. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.
This was my first time at this restaurant. I chose it based on its reviews. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience, it took about 15 min for someone to get me a table even when there was no one in front of me. Then about 20 to be served. I was disappointed by this. Then when I got my food, my eggs were bland and the hashbrowns were over toasted. I also noticed that they had a stale flavor to them, not sure if it was the oil/butter they used or the griddle, but that was a bummer. All in all, I only gave it 2 stars bc the short guy that gave me a table was super friendly as well as the waiter. However, the food was subpar.
Went to enjoy a late breakfast. Sat in the back of the restaurant but atmosphere was still very nice and pleasant. Our server Tom brought us out some coffee in cups that had not been cleaned. He made the cement that the coffee stains were getting bad! In fact I showed him with my finger that the cup was not clean! The food was just ok. The visit today was not very good because of the server. It took him 15 minutes for him to cash is out even though he took orders for the table on both sides of us. We even held it standing up. He needs a lot of training!
I almost never write negative reviews, but our experience here warranted it. We ordered a latte and cappuccino to go, and it took over 15 minutes to make them (with no one before us). Once we finally got our drinks, the milk in my latte was spoiled and it was completely undrinkable!
My boyfriend and I decided to get brunch at this place bc of all good reviews. There was a 30 minutes wait to be seated and another 30 minutes to get our food. We ordered the chilaquiles and short ribs with hash browns. The food was flavorless and nothing special at all. I could taste the oil they used to fry the hash browns and it tasted gross! Would not recommend!
Omg! First of all coffee while I wait! Soooo good and I can purchase coffee beans. Service with Gaby was great EVERY one is so nice. They have a bar! And made some great mai tais. I had the Pork Chilaquillas which were super yummy (would be better with beans imo) my daughter had Carmel Salted Waffles best waffles ever! My hub had some steak dish which was delish! Fed will go back! WARNING: Plan to park farrrr away there are NO spots unless ur lucky! Have fun!
My wife and I had brunch here on Friday June 3rd. It was our first time to visit La Jolla Shores, and to visit the Shorehouse Kitchen. It just seemed appropriate to eat here before walking the shoreline, and we were not disappointed. We sat in their back patio area, which I highly recommend for a more intimate dining experience. Our server, Lauren B, took great care of us. My wife had the egg breakfast and I had the Monterey Omelette. Our food and coffee (Honey Breve and house coffee) was delicious. The memory of this visit will linger on for many years. Love this place and can’t wait to visit again sometime soon.
This place was extremely good, friendly workers, beautiful environment, all around great place to start your day! We visited from Phoenix, AZ and our server (Sierra) was amazing! I asked if they brewed their own coffee (because it's to die for) which they do, I had 3.5 cups! She suprised me by giving me a quart size container of their coffee mix for free! Such a kind thing to do. Anyway, we will definitely be recommending this place to everyone we know! Kudos to the entire staff!
One of our favorite breakfast locations ever! It’s usually busy a little later in the morning, so we like to get there a little early. The coffee is great, and always topped off in a timely manner. I usually get their açaí/granola/yogurt breakfast. It’s always a treat. Their savory dishes are great too. We always end the meal by walking off our breakfast with a walk down the street to the beach at La Jolla Shores.
A very very busy and popular place but I recommend waiting however long it takes! The food was superb and all of the staff was courteous and didn't say "No problem" When we asked for anything. I will be back next time I am in La Jolla
I’ve lived in La Jolla for almost two years, and have visited family for 5 years prior to that. I have been here so many times, I love the food, the service is usually amazing! But today, I had the worst experience I’ve ever had, so bad that I will never come back. My server “Brooke A” was very rude and cold since we sat in her section. She never asked if we needed anything throughout our stay while she went around to every other table and asked and checked in on them, she didn’t once stop by to give us water when she walked past us to other tables to serve them water. And most importantly she didn’t once ask us how our food was, and unfortunately my carnitas Benedict (which I always order and which is always amazing) was undercooked, and super fatty. She didn’t say a word to us but to take our order, even when she dropped off the check she didn’t ask if we needed anything else, she dropped off the check silently with no words. I think I’ve heard her say a total of 15 words to us the entire time. Worst service I have ever had, please teach Brooke to be a better server or you will lose more loyal customers.
