Sichuan Impression reviews
17Wow this sichuan place is AMAZING.everything we ordered was delicious and had the perfect spice level.i loved the spicy stir-fried beef as well as the pork intestine.the fish soup was also sooo good.great place to grab a meal if you like spicy food!
Don't order the Kung Pao Chicken.it's not as good as Panda's, and the steamed pork ribs are not good either.
Stilted beef and taro chicken are pretty good
Food was good, fresh, and spicy with plenty of the numbing spice from the Sichuan peppercorn. Mapo tofu was great, would highly recommend, but very spicy for me (my face starts sweating). Recommend to eat it with white rice. Pickled bamboo shoots were a nice appetizer. The cumin lamb, daikon beef soup, and ribs are good not-spicy alternatives.
Best mapo tofu you will ever have. Best Sichuan food I have ever had. Have eaten there many times; never disappoints.
I love Sichuan food. Everything was good and tasted authentic.
Parking was easy.
Service was fast and attentive.
My friend was so pleased with the meal.
I have to admit. Its a little weird at first especially if you have never had peppercorn. Its pretty heavy on that. It makes your mouth a little numb but it also gives a unique flavor. The chicken is really good and the fish soups are very tasty. I recommend it.
Wonderful spicy food with lots of menu options. Hidden local gem. Cucumber salad and shrimp fried rice are amazing.
I was extremely annoyed by the meal I had eaten. I have never had such an bad experience before. Objectively speaking, the bullfrog with pickled peppers I ordered for $32 didn't even have more than ten pieces of bullfrog. It was full of bones, and the meat was very small. It was incredibly terrible. Not having more than 10 pieces, I can say that I've never had such an experience in North America. I feel like I got scammed, and the other dishes were just as disappointing. I informed the front desk that it was for take-out and ordered four servings of rice. They packed them in two boxes together. I don't know how this restaurant manages to cut costs to this extent. There's nothing more to say—it's absolutely terrible. I will never come to this restaurant again. I stopped eating after about 5 minutes and then spent about 10 minutes writing a review to show this all.
They hosted a reception for my father's funeral. They could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious.
Thank you for all you did to make that day very special for me, my family, and our friends.
If you like Sichuan food chances are you will love this place. The number of items on the menu is truly impressive. Have not tried them all but from what I have tried the food is excellent. Entrees are kind of pricey but the portions are huge. Also food looks kind of spicy but believe me it does not taste as spicy as it looks. Service is always slow regardless of whether it's a weekday or weekend.
Very unprofessional non mandarin speaking receptionist. Cancelled my reservation without formal permission and communication. Consider other restaurants in the area when you have important people to meet.
—— but the other waiters are polite and awesome.
Delicious Szechuan food. Weird ordering online, but that’s a pandemic gift that seems to be lingering. Wait staff were very nice. I had one of my favorite dishes, the chicken chili, and it was delicious, generous portion.
If you can't trek it to east LA, this is where it's at. I thought it was odd there's no spicy chicken dry pot but the spicy chicken is Sichuan all the same. Get some cold noods on the side and get ready for that sweet tongue numbing heat. Don't forget to order a side of rice!
Always get take away! The food is excellent and very spicy. Family style is really the way to go. Finally got the duck and it is delicious as well.
Good food but the waitress is super rude. We are served with soup which arrived late and the waitress did not bring a single bowl or spoon. Later when we asked them, the waitress just stared at us and put the bowls and spoons agressively. Good for you with that kind of attitude.
The food in this store has always been good since it opened, but the waiter is really good at giving customers a bad look and rolling his eyes.
We were one of the last parties to be seated at 8: 30 and it was bustling with big and small groups all eating heaps of yummy red spicy food. They played Prince & the Revolution Purple Rain in its entirety! Ordered and paid with an app. Large selection of dishes, not all spicy (kung pao chicken was sweet). Mapo tofu featured in LA Times: no disappointment there. Cumin Lamb—divine and cold chicken appetizer incredible. Great meal, fun and festive place. Outdoor seating has heaters. Lots of people picking up. Small parking lot, valet on hand, street parking in surrounding residential area. Good impression.
Food is mediocre to good. Just be prepared for the spicy level. But the service is not acceptable, First, no servers are adding water for us from the very beginning. Second, we ordered a school yard ice jelly. In the picture of the menu, there is watermelon, and with ingredients said, there is watermelon. But when it shows up, watermelom is replaced by pineapple. That's fine, I'm ok with pineapple as long as they told us a valid reason. But the waitress told me it is always pineapple after she is working there. Really rude, not any apology or explanation. If I were her, I might not apologize, but I will definitely ask if he is OK with the pineapple at first. Please provide better service next time, thanks.
