Side Street Cafe reviews
13Great place, used to be a secret but isn’t anymore. Usually very busy but wait is never long. Great food, even greater people! Definitely recommend.
Was greeted with friendly service and great food. This place is fantastic! I'll definitely be back for some Eggs Benedict.maybe it was Country Benedict.
Food was very good! Service was excellent! I had the ham AZ nd cheese omelet. Very good flavor but not very fluffy! They are kind of flat! We will still come back.
Excellent food, Good service. Not too long a wait. Atmosphere is tables crowded together and loud Café. Parking is touch and go.
This place is incredible. The owner is fantastic. I stop in every time I’m in town. Will be back
Wonderful breakfast. Ordered bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. More than enough. Great friendly staff!
Great food, really only two good breakfast places in Thousand Oaks.
This is one of them.
Had biscuits and gravy with home fries, really good. Service was great. Great place for breakfast or lunch. Will be going back.
If you have never tried their Eggs Benedict, you are missing out! My favorite breakfast for over 20 years
I happened to stop in during a very busy time, but that didn’t matter. There are quite a few employees in the front and back of the house. I sat there and marveled over how well all these people worked together. Very minimal conversation, they saw something that needed to be done, they took care of it, didn’t matter who’s order or who’s table/section. They got it done while dancing around each other in tight quarters like they were choreographed movements.
Within a minute of being seated, I had my drink and setup in front of me. My order was taken and 7 minutes later I was eating.
I looked around and saw that the place was full, even most of the tables outside (90 deg). This is definitely a well oiled machine.
Now, as for the food itself, good diner food. Putting cold whipped cream on anything hot is a recipe for disaster. But for the most part, the food is good. I give this place 5stars for everything but the food. The food is good, fair priced and will definitely fill your stomach, but is nothing extra ordinary.
Having said all that, you have to try this place. It’s off the beaten path but definitely worth the 2 minutes extra it takes to find it’s tucked away location.
Overall great breakfast place. Generous portion sizes, very attentive staff, piping hot food made to order. My only gripe is the hash browns. I could probably find better seasoned wet cardboard.
I love their eggs benedict and waffles. I also enjoy their little menu for dogs. They serve you fast and employees have been nice the entire 15 years I've eaten here. Only complaint is their coffee needs to change.
Service and atmosphere is good, but the food is bland, boring and the coffee is off. Not sure what brand it is but it's bad. Weekday early mornings are BUSY with contractors, utility workers and you name it, so not mellow like the weekends. Overall not bad but noting to write home about.
