Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center: Emergency Room

All the early morning nurses when I came in after having a grandmal seizure acted like it wasn't a big deal and talked badly about me loudly right next to the room where I was with 3 other patients

I broke my femur August 22nd, I was given amazing care by the trauma nurses, med surge nurses and my orthopedic surgeon.
However I had a really horrible experience with one surgeon. I was seen by a number of people who all checked my pulses on my feet, shins, thigh on my good leg, and skipped the bad one. Everyone including my orthopedic surgeon skipped my thigh. A trauma general surgeon named Dr. Eric Salinger came into my med surge room when I was alone, and began to palpate my leg, he started at my feet squeezing hard, then he moved to my shins which caused me to panic because he was motioning towards my femur. I told him please do not touch my leg and he squeezed my thighs just as hard as he squeezed me everywhere else, causing me to scream out in pain, and grab his arm. It put me in so much pain that medication would not touch it for hours, I cried for over an hour. My femur was still broken at this point. He wasn’t even my doctor, he was just present in the trauma room when I came in. There was absolutely no remorse on his face when he did it. It was an extremely traumatic experience and it has been hard for me to talk about.
My roommate even told multiple nurses because she heard the whole thing.
Be careful with this surgeon and leaving him alone with your loved ones, he should not be trusted.
I’m not sure how to file a complaint formally with the hospital, but I will be doing that as well.

WARNING: Absolutely do not go to this hospital if you can absolute avoid it.
1st: THEY WILL BILL YOU FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED AND INFLATE THE COSTS OR EVEN BILL YOU DOUBLE THE COST OF THE SERVICES. Calling, emailing, and talking will do almost nothing. The billing staff will pretend not to understand your issue even when you explain it to them clearly many times or send you across departments. They will sometimes even straight up lie to you about certain charges. The itemized receipts do not include any detail or industry standard information. They will increase the bill from one day to the next with no reason or explanation (almost $1000 increase). The billing office refused to acknowledge there was a change even though you can see it clearly from the previous statements that it increased. The bill for checking your heart rate, listening to your breath, giving 2 ibuprofen and a shot ended up being around $7000
2nd: They are slow and don't follow industry standard procedure.

It’s never fun to have to go to the emergency room but the staff at Sierra vista were amazing! The nurses, Mary and Colleen were wonderful, Dr Forrest and the radiologist were also great! There was no wait time, the person who handled the billing was also extremely friendly and helpful.

Thank you all very much! From the time we walked in the security guard, the administration, nurses and the Doctors, were beyond professional, very thorough and very caring. I wasn't looking forward to going to any emergency room but grateful I went there. I truly felt compassion and got the care I needed.

I saw supervisor treat one the house keepers so bad. He seemed very aggressive and really prejudice towards them. I don't need my kids seeing this type of behavior especially against these hard working people. I don't know who he thinks he is talking at a woman in that manner.

Doctor diagnosis was wrong it turned out and I could see how little efforts they put in to help patients seriously. Paying $5000 for a misdiagnosis and insensitive service (also didn’t like medical staffs’ who surrounded by me were joking each other when I arrived to the hospital) is nonsense. Also, they are so disorganized that I had to provide my insurance information twice (via call and an email) and at the end they sent me a bill without contacting my insurance company. Basically, I am doing their work here to organize my bills. Also they had my name wrong so I had to mail my ID to the hospital. I can’t believe how disorganized, dysfunctional and incapable they are in doing the most basic things in their jobs.

Smallest and rudest emergency room i’ve ever been to.came in for abdominal pain and waited 2 hours to be triaged while i watched 12 other people go in ahead of me.apparently they forgot to put me down on the list.i told them i was leaving because i was tired of waiting and i had a feeling this place wouldn’t be professional at all.they got frantic and acted fast after i said i was going to leave.they took me back and put me in a bed in the hallway, along with multiple other patients.the nurse came over and immediately started drawing blood.she didn’t get it the first stick which is normal for me.but after she did the second stick she didn’t have any gauze so she ripped it off of my other arm and stuck it on the new one.she also dropped the tape she used on the floor and still used it on an open wound.i then told her that i was leaving but she said “no you cant leave, i broke the rules for you” she stood in front of me and wouldn’t let me leave after my mom and i both told her we were going somewhere else.also, the CT tech was very rude and didn’t care for anyone at all.the only thing good that i experienced was the doctor.he was fantastic and truly cared for everyone.but overall, i would not recommend this emergency room to anyone.

Doctor misdiagnosed my rash which resulted in me transmitting Hand, Foot and Mouth disease to family and friends. According to other doctors that I subsequently visited this should have been an easy diagnosis for any doctor. Very disappointed and will never be returning or recommending this ER to anyone.
