Sizzling Pot King, San Diego CA

The dry pot is really good. There are different types of flavor/spiciness and different proteins to choose from. You could also add other sides into the pot. Medium size is good for 2-3 people.

Sizzling Pot King is a chain. Not impressed with the food. The menu is like half scratched off like it’s “sold out”. Prices are increased using white label stickers. They should just reprint a whole new menu or restock inventory. They gave disposable bowls and utensils. Except for the water cup and pitcher.

We wanted to order certain items but it got crossed off so we got their signature dry pot. We wanted small but it got crossed off. How? Can’t you make smaller portions? Medium serves 2-3 so we got medium.

1) pick the size, medium ($26.99) or large ($36.99) ; 2) choose your flavor, we got garlic; 3) choose your spice level, we got mild; 4) choose your pot, we got braised pork belly. It automatically comes with celery, potatoes, cauliflower and bean sprouts. Adding more sides is additional. The pot comes cooked and sizzling hot that is kept warm with a chafing dish underneath.

We also ordered Wuhan hot dry noodles ($6.99) and wonton in spicy sauce ($7.99) which is basically in chili oil. It wasn’t spicy and the hot dry noodles were bland in a diluted peanut sauce. Glad we didn’t get rice and used the noodles to eat with the pork belly. The mild spice was perfect because it had a kick.

Overall, the food here lacks quality, flavor and selection. 2.5 stars but bumped to 3 for the self serving water pitcher. Plus they allowed us to split checks with two credit cards.

We ordered a takeout so could not judge about the restaurant cleanliness and the service of the waiters. I like their online order pick up mechanism which allows you to set up a time for pick up. We were late and by the time we came, the food order is already ready. We ordered dry pot, other appetizers and honestly they were all great. The staff is also nice and I would definitely come again.

Inside it's not clean which directly says about food quality. Food wasn't as good as expected. It is low low below average. Doesn't worth your money and time. We ordered for to go.
Instead of meat they put only bons.

Sizzling pot king has a great selection of meat, including frog, rabbit, beef tongue etc. The numbing spicy flavor is really good but I have pretty low spice tolerance so we got least spicy. Its very flavorful and comes with lots of base veggies too.

Just bought a car and came here to eat my emotions to celebrate my new responsibility… I’ll be fine. But you have to come by and check this place out. Simple dishes to choose from and high quality ingredients, what else can you ask for? Okay maybe it be better if was cheaper but this is a well established authentic kind of place. Went with a group of friends and got combo beef tripe/braised pork belly, mild spicy. We also added spam, bok choy, and instant noodles. The dish was super flavorful with a good mix of flavors and textures from the add-ins, and the mild spiciness added a nice kick on top. Portions were good, too, the large was plenty for our group of 4. Overall great lunch!

Griddle cooked pig feet is my favorite! The restaurant is great for a large group of people to share, and the price is reasonable.

I lived in China for awhile and this is absolutely the best Chinese food I’ve had in the US. Red Oil Wontons were Noodles were I also asked them to add the numbing peppercorns which was! Don’t sleep on this place. I will be back….

Always order the same thing; Combo mild spicy Baby Cuttlefish and Pork Intestine+ cauliflower, broccoli, and BLACK FUNGUS. *muah* chef's kiss

What do I say here? Oh this place oh I remember, well so My beautiful fantastically goofy fiance William was excited to come to try as much as possible. I told him don't try me boy. He said I wouldn't. Good order what you want baby. He ordered four things, we received three. Theres we ordered away our lives savings to get chased outside by the cold. We went on a nightmarish wagon ride safely away to a place where we started right off from. Found the key when we stopped talking about each other. Not going out with wherever I had been there thinking of. So we pretend to be with our family when we are together then and now. But I will accept that I have no idea what I want my life to be having some kind of specific hunger. So yeah now we can accept that we will not be there either way. I mean to have the opportunity again to f a ll in love wouldn't surprise me. I seriously doubt that I have chosen the restaurant next door and he foolishly found the wrong place to open the door. But they're not sure about leaving the door open so we had him brave the chimney. They see two crazy people like us two. Pick a cheaper place to stay in your house. Cause you would be out of rent funds if you picked up the check. God help me. He knows that. He does.

Wanted to try this style of preparation. Tried hot but will order medium or mild next time, there were alot of chilli's in our order. One order is good enough for about two hungry dudes (we had a party of four and two pots filled us up with all the extras we ordered)

I was looking for something new and authentic. Well new to me. This little spot was just fantastic. Small place on the funky side but the food is great.
I had the pork belly in the barbque sauce, medium heat. I like to go lighter on heat at new places so I can taste the quality of the food and add.heat if I need to. Also got the spicy wantons. So good.
I really enjoyed.both dishes and will be going back. Lots to try here.
