Smart & Final, Encino CA

I have a medical exemption for wearing a face covering. I entered without a mask, no problem. Then, when I was nearing the checkout lane, a lady employee told me that I have to wear a mask. I said that I have a medical exemption. She told me that I could not be in here if I didn't wear a mask. I told her again about my exemption; and she repeated that I was not allowed to be in the store without a mask on my face. She then ordered me to put my items on a shelf next to me and leave the store. I informed her that I can report this to HIPAA and she encouraged me to do so, then repeated to put my groceries down and leave. I felt humiliated, intimidated and disrespected - but I didn't want to make a scene, so I put my groceries down and left. Will never return to this store!

Smart & Final never disappoints. Their house brand First Street is the same quality as the National brand, odds are they made it! You don't risk anything, S&F will make you happy! Baked goods are great as are produce and dairy and you'll save money!

Had everything on my shopping list, friendly, efficient staff, no attitude shoppers, prices good, clean. Thanks for being open!

All was good but I had a problem with a Cashier there before. Poor Customer Service. This was about 6 months ago. I do not stop as much as before, for this reason. My last visit everything was good.

I don't know what it's called but they have a machine when you wait in line. It tells you when to proceed to the next register. Upon doing so there was a woman still paying for groceries. And she had another bar separating more groceries. I watched the 3 people who were originally behind me pay for there groceries and leave. There check out system is slow and terrible. Smart and Final has great value but very inefficient.

Maybe I'll buy 5 each then need travel to the sister store

I love this location in particular among others, its a bigger store with a wider selection unlike other locations.
Tons of parking at the front and behind the building as well.
Always fresh produce, lines are moving quick. Well clean and organized

Laura at the cash register asked " why did you take out the heavy box to be scanned. I said it's ok. She's like it's not ok for me and I don't want to put it back on your cart. I told her don't worry, I'll take care of it. "

It was not even a 10 pounds cans of juices. Anyway, then she offered if I need help outside. I said nope.

SnF my #1 go to for dairy, sodas, chips and crackers and bathroom and laundry supplies. Great prices, easy parking and access and friendly, helpful staff. Watch for the little coupons on their weekly flyerm

This store has very fresh and quality food products. The customer service here is indisputable and all the workers very helpful and courteous.

Walked into the store and found a worker to give direction to the product we needed. She was helpful. We found what we needed. While we were there we decided to walk around. We found Vons product at lower cost. Other Costco type items at good price. Nice fresh tomatoes. Easy check out without waiting. All in all a very good visit. The hardest part? Because it is set back off the street it is easy to miss. Look just one block East of Balboa. That's our new landmark. Outstanding store.

Now this may sound crazy coming from someone who shops at Gelsons. But if you understand this secret you can save a lot of money. Smart and Final is great for a lot of things: like great fresh produce. CHEAP! And paper products! I have protein shakes every morning and all my 20 ounce cups come from Smart and Final. So worth it!

I don't come here a lot, but it's great for bulk food and easily rivals if not bests Costco for meat prices. There are a lot of items that you can't get elsewhere in bulk as well.

No Skinny Pop and apparently it takes an act of God to get it in the Encino store. Need to go to Canoga Park instead.

It was terrific as the man who checked me through ran around and picked up items for me. He was the best. I didn't get his name, but he had mentioned he had onced worked at a deli.

The place lives up to its name. The store is well kept and team members are very helpful and polite. Their is ample parking and it is in a good location. The lines do occasionally get long as they are sometimes very busy but you can tell the workers are struggling to accommodate.

A supermarket specializing in larger sizes and restaurant supplies. Tight aisles stocked with sauces and spices, paper goods, professional cooking equipment, refrigerated and frozen foods and lots of seasonal goods. Prices are reasonable. Very few employees. Checking out can take some time. Free parking. Wheelchair accessible including bathrooms.
