17I hope other people get communication back from them. I called a few times on Monday and got no answer.
Took 40 minutes to pickup. And then another two hours of waiting time picking up other passengers. Upon calling up dispatch they rudely pointed to their website which mentions wait times can be up to 3hrs and call was cut. Didn't pick up again from my number. Prepared to wait several hours at the airport as they fill up their shuttle. Canceled return trip. Lyft is cheaper.
My driver, Judy, was wonderful! She picked me up at LAX and drove me to Agoura Hills. Communication was excellent, and she made arrangements so that I wouldn’t have to wait long for her. I will be using Smart Shuttle to go back to the airport to go home next week and will definitely use them again on my next trip.
Send an email 40h before a ride to cancel. The next day I get mails saying my ride is still confirmed and payment accepted. I called them and they said they do NOT check mails for cancelation, they don't want to refund because I didn't call more than 24h in advance.
Website and mail you get when booking do not say clearly that you have to call!

Got to pickup area at terminal at 3: 45. Pouring rain and cold. Stood outside for 1 hour waiting for smart shuttle. Called several times and put on hold for 15 minutes or more. After 2 different changes of vehicle pickup notifications we finally got our ride from a Lyft driver. Very bad experience especially traveling with a 76 yr old disabled person.
Absolute shambles! We were told that we would be picked up at the 'B' drop off point outside LAX international arrivals - after over 90 minutes of waiting and phone calls (that cost us $90) we gave up and got an Uber. This is what anyone reading this review should do!
Watch out- for this company. If I could give this a 0 stars i would. Arrived in LAX terminal B, which is chaos and no idea what vehicle was picking me up. They'd already changed my scheduled pick up by email during the flight to 2 hours before the plane landed (considering i'd supplied my flight info so they'd know exactly when my flight would land this was a joke). I called the company, was put on hold several times and racked up a huge telephone bill. I was then told to take a bus to the pick up zone, which at the time made no sense. This was not in my info and I'd never been to LAX before. After waiting (1.5 hours) and telephoning several times we gave up, asked some brilliant airport staff who directed us to a free bus service where we could get an Uber. They aren't answering emails and so i can get my money back. Keep your money and take an Uber
Worst experience don't book! Absolutely terrible customer service and the driver was 30 mins late. They say it's a shuttle but it's not. Just take an uber and save yourself some stress.
Worst company ever. We paid in full for return Cancun and Playa del Carmen. The return section never turned up. First the said the driver was there waiting, but never was. Then they said he turned up at 9am for an 8.30am appointment. We were desperate so booked a taxi and got us there in time. We have asked for refund from this company, and they are not responding! It’s obviously a scam, and Please stay away from this company. Btw, they are overcharging as well. Super expensive! Stay away From this company. Smart Shuttle is a hoax and not smart at all! The Mexican government should shut them down! Stay away!
NO Refunds when the driver doesn't show up!
They have very deceptive business practices. They try stealing clients from other Transportation businesses. This is the most dishonest company I've had to deal with. I have had to pick up friends from the airport since they leave people stranded. This is a company who takes your money and doesn't pick you up! This company is known locally by drivers in the transportation industry a total sham. Stay clear!
I would highly recommend using Ventura County airporter or Lyft. Airporter is great company and are reliable.
Just awful experience trying to call in to their number to check in for a pickup at LAX. Interminable wait times and then being asked to hold, random disconnections, and I got patched through to Yellow Cab whose operator was just as confused to be speaking to me as I was to them.
Driver was 30+ minutes late for a private car pickup and the best the office operator could offer me was, "We've told the driver to call you when they're arriving - we can't do more than that. " Then they hung up on me.
Update: They called in a driver on his day off to pick me up. Never got an explanation on what happened to the original driver or why they replaced them or what all happened. The actual ride was fine, the communications with this company could use some serious help.
My sister flew to Santa Barbara AP from Oregon this past Thursday. She booked the shuttle a few days prior. Shuttle pick up time was 3: 20 pm. Never arrived. Employee said they would send a private car and not charge her extra. Driver went to wrong location then left. Another call, another car sent. Never arrived. My sister has a bad knee and and is blind in one eye. Almost 2 hours later, standing in the hot sun waiting for yet the 4 th car, she was picked up and brought to Oxnard. She was shaky and dehydrated. The manager did not return her phone calls and refused to reimburse her. ADA violations everywhere. My sis said the car reeked of cigarettes and was dirty inside. They have a monopoly on the shuttle service at SB Airport as there are no other shuttles to Oxnard. We called BBB and got a lawyer. They need to be out of business.
I was just cut off twice my shuttle 601 and the only way to get in contact with fhe compay is to book. First the shuttle almost ran me off the freeway as it was speeding going around 80 im guessing waving thrugh the cars then i see we tak the same exit so then i see the shuttle come up next to me on my left almost hitting me and sworving as if its a game. Where do they get these driveres? This is one company i will NEVER USE or RECOMEND!
Me and my labmate used this service to attend to a conference in Ventura.
We were skeptical about the service since the reviews were not at all good. But we thought to take the risk since there was a promo code from our conference.
The pick up was scheduled at 12 noon from LAX, we were able to contact the people around 1 and half hours before.
We were very happy to see Joe coming to pick us roughly around 12.30 pm which relieved us.
He said there were two more pick ups and one drop off. May be we might have spent around 15-20 min for the pickups and drop offs and then went to the final destination (Ventura)
For us the service was great, and the driver was friendly too.
We enjoyed the ride with the heavy traffic.
We were shocked about the reviews, but we gave it a trial and were 100% satisfied with the service (booking, pick up, driver) from Oxnard to Santa Barbara Airport. Thank you!
Should have listened to the other reviews. Do not use this business! Tried to cancel a reservation more than 10 days before and no one responds to emails. When I spoke to someone on the phone 9 days before my reservation, they said it would be canceled and I would not be charged. Then I was charged yesterday for $105. Spoke again with someone on the phone and she said there is no record of me canceling so I can't get a refund. Definitely a shady business if not scam judging from other people reviews as well.
Not professional at all. Late. One hour Lied about why they were late wouldn’t use them again The girl on the phone at the home office is just as bad. Unprofessional can’t say it enough.
