Smashburger, San Jose CA

I ordered the classic double and got very sick after I ate it. Ordered through Grubhub and didn’t receive the drink that I ordered.

The burgers are great but the chicken is just as good to. Great food and the sides are worth it to. Nice place.

Updating to say the food was SO BAD, I threw up twice while at work.

Been craving a cheeseburger and my favorite spot, SmokeEaters is permanently closed, so decided to give these guys a try.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful, 5 stars to both him and the server. The food, however, was TERRIBLE.

The cheeseburger was mediocre at best, and that's being generous, but the onion rings, GOOD LAWD! So salty, oily and not crispy at all! Completely inedible. My colleagues fries were also salty.

Would not come here again.

Best burger maybe ever. And they offer beers and great milkshakes and fries. And it’s a different burger too - really filled with flavour.

My son placed an online order for pickup. I walked in to pick it up. I walked up to the pickup line and was completely ignored by the guy that was literally standing 2 feet away. It took him 5 minutes to acknowledge me then he said “I’ll be right with you (rudely) ” as he continued to pack orders, all while the order sat on a shelf above his head. He walked away and came back twice (ignoring me), then rudely asked how he could help. I gave him my order number and he said he couldn’t help me with the info I had. I gave him a name and he semi-threw me the bag that was on the shelf.

Meat was amazing, the smash fries was ok, not my flavor profile. This was more of an upper class burger place.

Came around 9pm ordered some food, the cooks were mugging me and my family. Made our burgers plainly and lazily. Idk what the problem was, when there were several door dash orders even after closing as we waited outside in the parking lot for about 30min.

If your cooks are having don’t take it out on our food smh especially the cook with that smug look on his face.

I really love the hamburgersand the shakes here.are very delicious. Good and fast attention. The best on the area ️

Took the wife and kids here for lunch. It was pretty busy but, there are outside seating. Lots to items choose from. We tired different burgers and fries/tots from their menu but, did not capture them in the pic. We liked it. Will be back again.

It's a darn shame this is the only location in SJ that's not the airport. Placed my online order at 12: 43 during lunch time and even checked in at 12: 55 with the employees. They proceeded to call out every order besides mine and when I asked 30 min later i found out it's been placed on a shelf waiting and no one bothered to call my order out. Food was cold by the time I even touched it. And one of the cashiers were on their phone half the time. Sorry but I can't come back to this location after this experience. I'll just go to Habit instead or elsewhere. What's the point of online ordering in advance if this happens. Can't even give an honest review of the food since it's cold.

Amburgers were good but not as delicious as before. I would still go back to Smash burger when I need a burger fix. They are very tasty.

The grilled chicken was a little bland, and the bun was "smashed". The habit is better. Great sweet potato fr I es.

Unfortunately I have to update this review right when I finally attain the most coveted "dukedom" crown on YELP for this place. Safe to say what I have to say here is not a one time mishap but an ongoing problem that never seems to get addressed.

I was nice enough to still give this place a 4 star review even though serving uncooked meat should be an automatic 1 star during one of my past visits.

It's unfortunate that I rave about this burger place to many people who love in and out because I genuinely loved this place. After this visit I don't believe I'll be back. Good food is only as good as the service. The service here needs remedial attention.

Smash burger loves to put out promotions to hype things up and get people to visit only to disappoint you with customer service that is not only lacking in service but most importantly lacking in common sense problem solving.

They literally had one register open and had a line out the door because the so-called manager was all over the place trying to figure out how to find a solution to the problematic system they have.

I offered solutions that made sense which were dismissed.

Instead what I got were passive aggressive comments when it's their system that was faulty.

Long story short, don't come here for promotions. You'll be disappointed; half the time they are out of the stuff they market to you. The best solution the manager had was to email corporate when he literally had me stand in line for at least 15 minutes because he was incompetent in finding solutions.

Black bean burger is good but the non-dairy strawberry shake tastes like fake cherry medicine. I took 3 sips, then just went and ordered a regular strawberry shake. I will just accept the gastrointestinal punishment. 0/5 stars for Eclipse ice cream brand.
