Overrated. House salad=spring mix, i am serious. Nothing special. Food was only ok, not great.
Ok, it is an old building but the smell inside is unbearable.moisture! Good place for instagramming.

Always a wonderful meal, service and a cozy place to end the day in the Apple Hill area with good food and a glass of wine.

Went for a birthday dinner, gave us out dated menus with different prices and meals that were not available, we ordered medium when our fillets came out they were purple in the middle, asked them to cook them again and the steak came back out purple in the middle burnt on the out side. Would you spend 100 bucks on 2 burnt raw steaks?

I stopped there for a late bite on a trip. Their baked camembert appetizer was flat and tasteless. The bread that they served with it was burnt on one side. They put my food down, but I had to ask for silverware and a napkin. The pizza was nothing spectacular either. Sure it was loaded with meat, but the crust and sauce were unremarkable and didn't add anything as an ensemble.

Chicken was over cooked. Ceaser dressing was really bland. Ranch had way too much dill Waitress had to make 5 trips to get things right. The helper lady was really awesome.

This place usually is good but for lunch it's very much a step down. The flies here are really concerning.

We had the beef Wellington special and sat outdoors with live music in the background. The service was really nice and the food was very good. We will be back!

Fantastic dinner with great service and live music. We were very impressed and we will return soon. Loved the outside dining.

Really enjoyed this place very good food and service nice place to sit out side and have a meal I had the streak salad the steak melted in your mouth so good.

Been here twice before, both beautiful nights. This weekend I was with a wedding party and our entire party got food poisoning. Some of us had pasta, others pizza. Gorgeous venue, friendly staff, sub par food. Will be back, but will only be getting drinks

I made reservations to have a birthday dinner here. To put this review simply, from the moment we walked in, our reservation was not correct. Then the food was very poor quality and overcooked. Our waitress had to be flagged down multiple times because she didn’t check on us. After one disappointment after another, we finally expressed our concerns to our waitress, to which customer service was extremely lacking, to put it nicely. I sent a detailed message to the restaurant privately, because I had read some bad reviews for this place and the response from Smith Flat House was to please reach out to them first. But I have yet to get a response, so here I am, writing an honest review. All this to say, we won’t be back another time. And I recommend going elsewhere for a nice dinner.

What a delightful experience. A beautiful spot in El Dorado County, just outside of downtown Placerville.

Menu varied and had something for everyone. The weather was perfect so we could eat outside. However, took a tour of the cellar and fell in love with the ambiance.

My steak/shrimp were cooked to perfection. By all means, order the grilled asparagus as a side

Hubby and I were out for a short ride. Decided to hit some local places we have spotted over the years. Smith Flat house is one. We stopped to have a drink downstairs in the bar. Even though they weren't open yet, they welcomed us in and served us our drinks and all of the staff where very friendly and pleasant. We will definitely be back!

A little expensive but worth it. Appetizers were awesome, oysters and scallops and pork bellies. I had lamb shank, absolutely great. Bread is the best. Great service too.

We had an amazing meal with friends but there was music that was nice but way too loud to enjoy talking with each other.

Food was tasty but was 2 hrs too late. Cocoa was cold. Delicious but I had to ask to please warm it up. Very nice setting but incredibly slow to cook and serve. Food was cold. Just very poor staffed.

The smith flat house has a lot of good things going for it. But, it also has a lot of opportunities. Overall it’s not worth the spend. I took my family and my mother out for her birthday Friday evening. We sat outside, had live music which was nice. Food however was extremely overpriced and honestly not worth the spend. If your spending 300-400 plus on dinner you expect the food and service to be outstanding. The mussels were fantastic I will give them that. My wife got a clump of dirt in her order, told the bus boy and waitress but they didn’t care or do anything. I ordered a filet medium rare and it was well done and wasn’t very good. I think it was choice meat and not prime, I didn’t say anything. My son ordered chicken Alfredo, he had a huge clump of uncooked pasta again didn’t say anything. My other son ordered a pizza which was so salty for some reason he couldn’t even eat it. They forgot my brothers meal all together so he had to wait.

Service was marginal at best. Multiple times drinks were empty and the waitress didn’t check on us at all for a long time. Overall everyone at the table felt we wouldn’t come back. Food and service wasn’t worth what they are charging. If they were cooking better and the service was bumped up I wouldn’t mind paying the price and trying it again because that’s what you want when you go somewhere nice. Great food and service that’s what you pay for. But, it was bad enough that I would try it or recommend it if that’s what you’re looking for. There are plenty of places that kick this restaurant’s butt in quality and service at better prices.

Very beautiful place to dine at especially outside, service is outstanding, very friendly staff and is on it when you need something. The food is amazingly delicious, so is the Rosemary Lavender Lemonade so refreshing.

This was a great place to stop for dinner. They had fine dining meals and also brick oven pizzas. Pizzas were a little on the pricey side. They had a great outdoor venue I'm sure would be good for a wedding of that type sort. I ordered the pizza which was delicious I would definitely visit again.

Great service, they had terrific live music when I was there. And the food was outstanding. Only beer and wine at the moment, a real cocktail would have been awesome
