Smoky Hollow Roasters reviews
12My favorite coffee spot in El Segundo. Has a nice coffee shop vibe, friendly staff, and great coffee. Their bags of coffee beans have great tasting notes and make a good cup of coffee at home too!
Great coffee and definitely gets major props for being one of the coziest coffee shops in the area. Great seating options and warm/unique atmosphere.
Service is ok. Their process is to take one order at a time and make it before taking another order which seems very inefficient. Baristas are ok. They don't seem to be too friendly. Was going to buy a pastry but noticed there were flies inside the hold so decided not to. Overall though the place is a good spot if you just want to do some work without a care for the atmosphere. Usually plenty of seats. It's a low key, low maintence spot so usually works for most people. Plenty of street parking.
Will never be coming back here again. They don’t accept US currency (cash) but they have a tip jar for cash. How ridiculous. What hypocrisy! 0/10
Was here on a Saturday, late morning just before lunch time. It was semi crowded but didn’t feel stuffy. I ordered the brandy which cones with oat milk but switched it to non fat milk costing me an additional $0.50. Typically it’s the other way around and you are charged for oat milk but not cows milk.
The staff weren’t friendly and it feels like you’re hanging out in the garage of someone who is into home roasting. There are storage items everywhere and it felt unorganized and dirty. Even the bathroom felt that way.
They were nearly out of pastries and had a refrigerated case of beverage offerings for non-coffee drinkers. Parking started it was for the bakery that was closed, so street parking it is and it looked hard to find. I’m glad we walked, although several of the streets lacked sidewalks. Would not walk out of my way to come back as there are lots of other options in the area, more conveniently located.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The Burundi Kibingo Oro pour over that Kai recommended was excellent. And the pastry was delicious too. I got to sit there for a little while and do some writing. Highly recommend this place.
Love the look and feel of this place. Staff could be more welcoming. Coffee is a solid B+.
Need better cups and lids. Both times I’ve been there the lid comes off way too easy and coffee spills. I’ve also had a drip from the bottom rim of the cup. Coffee is bold and flavorful but honestly the lid issue is going to deter me from going back. It could be just me too who knows.
They ran out of an ingredient for my drink and substituted something that was quite bad tasting.
And also unfriendly baristas unfortunately. Really would like to give this place another chance because the menu looks promising and the atmosphere is nice.
This is an awesome coffee spot ~10 min from LAX with strong WIFI. We worked from here from 12-5PM on a Monday and were able to find seats w/ an outlet easily. Loved how there was no wifi restrictions. I tried the Blue Tea latte (vanilla/oatmilk/cinnamon) and really liked it. Highly recommend! It's so rare to find good coffee spots with good wifi these days.
Hip little industrial corner in El segundo. This spot has a rustic antique warehouse vibe. Very friendly barista, great selection of house roasted coffees (including rye whisky or tequila infused), and a dangerous pastry pantry. Had a pour over of their Yemen, very delicious. Only thing would be to not default to a to go cup?
Great specialty coffee with a range of drinks from traditional to unique. I’ve gotten Cappuccinos from here for a full summer and they never grow old. Also toasting your bakery items is a game changer and I don’t know why more shops don’t do it.
