Bar Smuggler's Cove reviews
25 This is a hidden gem. The stuff is if wonderfully efficient and sweet as could be. The people that come to this bar are all generally very very friendly. Took took a friend for her birthday along with some others who had never been there and they all can't wait to go back.
But get there early as it is a small place and fills up quickly.
About a 15 minute wait to get in around 7: 00 on a Friday. Great classic and new tiki cocktails and a must visit for any Rum lover. They only serve rum based drinks (with a few exceptions)
Checked this place out a few nights ago and had a great time. Sure the drinks aren't great, but you only need one and you are buzzing and having a ball inside a festive yet mellow place. Really great for small groups if you arrive early enough to snag a booth.
Fun and popular place. Drink wait times tend to be a bit long. But the atmosphere and energy makes up for it. The nautical theme is cute. It can get a bit tight. They're known for their rum.
Probably the cutest bar I’ve ever been to in my life. And really great drinks. Hefty menu but the bartenders will help and deff listen to their suggestions
Great place and great vibes. I drank there, absinthe. It was delicious and quite a show. I recommend this place.
One of the best bars in San Francisco. We got there by chance and were very happy. There is a huge selection of rum cocktails, any cocktail is between 12 and 16$, made by great bartenders. There are 3 levels of the bar and it’s almost always crowded.
Really phenomenal aesthetic! Lots of pirate and fishing themed decorations as well as great wood work.
The drinks were really great and many added to the theme of the bar.
Would absolutely go again.
Great dive bar with a Hawaiian theme. No dacing here like Tonga room but they have some tasty drinks and it's like being under the deck of a real pirate ship. Upstairs more chill, basement bit rowdy. There's a spot for everyone
While the Tonga Room might be the most well-known of SF's tiki bars, Smuggler's Cove takes their craft the most seriously. The drink menu is thoughtful, unique, and extensive; the drinks are real good. The space is tall and narrow - basically a 3-deck pirate ship - but definitely worth a visit. Try to go early or on an off-night, because it gets crowded.
The bartenders are amazing. I usually dont leave reviews but I definitely recommend this place. Im from Chicago and I havent visited a bar like this one.
Have been coming here for 8 years. It's such a fun, hidden gem. Cocktails have remained consistently excellent even as they've changed the menu. Sad that they can no longer light the drinks on fire due to fire regulations, but it's still quite a show to watch the bartenders in action. It's usually VERY crowded, so recommend going right when they open if you want a seat.
Excellent bar. Always very crowded, hard to snag a seat, but well worth the visit. Amazing drinks.
Really nice place to drink delicious cocktails in San Fransisco! All the rum lovers should try this place. Pirate atmosphere ; I definitely recommend this place!
Excellent drinks, unique set up with 3 levels, hard to get to service area, they do a good job of limiting patrons, but still a little hot and crowded
Smuggler's Cove is a must-visit for anyone interested in cocktails and an absolute for tiki bar afficianados. It absolutely lives up to its well-deserved reputation. From classics like a pina colada to house specialties to custom made drinks, everything it's delicious and well balanced. The space is comfortably cozy, with a great upstairs lounge. The crowd is usually very convivial. Of course, the bartenders and staff are some of the best in SF.
Really fun bar. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Chill vibes and great cocktails. The line for the bar can be a little long but it’s worth the wait
Pretty fun night for both of us. We enjoyed some cocktails and took some neat photos of the decor. My fiance enjoyed talking to the bar staff and we liked that the place wasn't overly crowded either. I was glad that the guy at the bar didn’t add the liquorice to my drink because he acknowledged it wasn’t a noticeable addition that people saw when they ordered and they didn’t always enjoy the strength- so good job bartender
This is actually the best bar in San Francisco. I don't care if you are a local or from anywhere else in the world, but the drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is even better. If you are in SF and you don't go here, then you have to come back.
