Absolutely, unbelievably incompetent.which is saying something for a government office of any type.

If you are currently Forced to use this office, or are anticipating receiving benefits of any type, do yourself a favor and file in another office - change your address if need be - you will be tied to these peolple, who clealy aren't competent -

Me: try waiting six months for a first retirement payment when you began the process a month BEFORE your retirement birthday, then receiving exactly 4 benefit payments before being suspended, AND SOCIAL SECURITY DOES NOT DO YOU THE COURTESY OF NOTIFYING YOU. YOU FIND OUT WHEN THERE IS NO DIRECT DEPOSIT INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. All because the post office didn't deliver a letter.

Phone - You will not get through to the Front Street office, I have been mysteriously dropped at least 5 times this week, sometimes after an hour on hold. I hove spoken to the main office in Washington twice - and they told me they are aware of the problem, But I Must Still Resolve Any Errors (and there have been many) WITH THIS OFFICE!

This leaves me in La Paz, Mexico - first trip looking for a place I might be able to survive on retirement benifits - California ain't it, and having to travel a thousand miles to try to get my benefits restored before I do not recieve the Feb. 3rd payment. If I had not started paying social security taxes in 1976 for every dollar I ever made, I might take it in stride. But I did, and I'm not.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed!
Good Luck

I asked about ticket to work, they placed me under investigation and took away my benefits. They are all from dark haired dark eyed places with no history of racial tolerance towards non dark haired non dark eyed races. They are from axis nations. They rubbed it in my face that they fill out forms for hot ebt cards for themselves while telling me that no such thing exists. They made me fill out the same form over and over for months saying that I never handed it in. They told me that I am only allowed to go to the Chula Vista office since I am an actual American.

Walked in on a Friday. Clocked in at 2: 33 and walked out at 2: 55. Pretty seemless. Came in for a corrected SS card to update my name due to marriage.

March 22 2: 36 p.m, my mom requested documents of her current award letter. The operator guy was angry and abrupt, and told to call a different number which didn't work. Before and after this office provides the necessary paperwork, this was the only case it didn't. Other social security numbers tell us to call this office.

I hate how the automated voice mail system said doing it online is the fastest and easiest way when it not.putting your personal Identification info (PII) on the internet or even mailing it not knowing if it actually is getting to the correct person I just a small step on how people get their Identity stolen. I respectful request more people to work at the work to answer questions.

Ineffective way of conducting business and providing services. Please, return to semi-normal operations by allowing for walk-ins. Sudden call drops, phone line consistently busy, conflicting online instructions, unable to make an appointment online and so on demonstrates ineffective government services. Be better!

How much more pathetic could this get.
I guess your gonna have to kill me for fighting you for my constitutional and and civil rights.

Obviously there isn't anything else to say to you, what you doing and have done to me there is no excuse for it.

Twice now I’ve had to call the office because they still haven’t sent me a form I need to fill out for my son’s disability. I had my phone interview almost two months ago. The guy who talked to me on the phone though was attentive and prompt.

They required me to mail my original copy of my marriage certificate and id to change my name. And when they mailed it back ups lost it. I know it’s not their fault ups lost it but they shouldn’t require you to mail originals, and they wouldn’t do anything to fix it.

Needed a replacement social security card. Arrived at the Social Security Department downtown San Diego at 1: 44 pm on a Wednesday. Was a breeze parking. There was plenty of open seating and only 3 people ahead of me after signing in. Waited only 20 minutes for my number to be called. Only took 10 minutes at the window to complete process to request a duplicate social security card. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient. It took less than 40 minutes from parking to signing in at office to completion and walking out the door back to our car.

I am in and out of there in less than an hour even without an appointment. When I do have an appoinymtmentment, its even faster. I watch people who go in and I eavesdrop on their conversations with the workers. Many times the customer comes without their paperwork or identification (Some people don't have anything as they are homeless). And then they're mad at the worker? ! Hello! *Identity theft*. Workers are just doing their jobs. My last worker went over and beyond for me. I even thanked him for all the help he gave me as I was there to tell SSDI that I had gotten a part time job, I didn't want to lose my SSDI disability benefits. The worker explained in plan English how it works, and that "No, my benefits will not be taken away. He even printed out a letter for me to show that he was not just playing "who shot john". Excellent worker!
