SOHMA Integrative Health Center, Long Beach CA

My back was badly and forcefully injured by Dr. Dawson. Then, the whole business made sure the experience was emotionally abusive as well by telling me “it’s not possible to be injured by a chiropractor” which as everyone knows is just complete horsesh_t. They tried to muscle me out of fair treatment. All i asked was for them to take the responsibility of making sure it healed well. They refused to cover adequate treatments and made me feel like my spine and wellbeing was completely inconsequential to them. I have never been so dehumanized. I am unable to return to my sport now and with limited mobility and strength in my back. I’m heartbroken. I couldn’t recommend this place less. I have a 3 year old that i struggle to pick up now. I cant find a comfortable way to sit or sleep. I cannot run or rotate. They do not care about people, just a profit.

EDIT: the response SOHMA has left below is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. After FORCEFULLY INJURING ME - they acted like I was at fault? It makes no sense. I cannot believe I gave them SO MUCH of my hard earned money just to be treated like absolute garbage. I would like to think that deep down they have some morality, but that would be a very generous assumption given the evidence otherwise. Make no mistake, this is a practice based on appearances. My account is not defamation in the slightest, If anything, I have, for the sake of brevity, left out so many of the emotional and physical abuses I suffered from this office.

I was directed to the Long Beach location. Same excellent service and the entire staff makes for an exceptional experience. Highly recommended!

I have been going to SOHMA for a while and had been feeling really good. Then, I was hit with a respiratory virus that flattened me and I coughed a horrible, violent cough for 2 weeks to the point that I was in excrutiating back pain. As soon as I could, I went in to see Dr. Chew, Dr. Kroeze, and Massage Therapist Brian Gibbs. As always they listened with empathy and took amazing care of me. They really care and LISTEN as I describe my pain and concerns. They use a variety of techniques and approaches depending on my needs. It is never a one size fits all thing. They are so skilled and kind and I am grateful to be feeling much better. Thanks SOHMA!

I started going to SOHMA for lower back issues. Dr. Chew is wonderful. She really listens to me and adjusts her treatments depending on my specific needs. I also noticed that in addition to my back feeling better, I was having fewer headaches due to my treatments with her. I went from having 3-4 headaches per week to having 2-3 headaches per month. I also really appreciate the office staff as well. They are efficient and friendly.

I have been going to SOHMA for almost a year. I came in with excruciating pain in my leg stemming from a herniated ruptured disc in my back. I did not want to have surgery and was detemined not to. I stayed consistent with the decompression table, acupuncture, chiropractic care and T&Z injections and I am now pain free. Dr. Dawson and the rest of the SOHMA team are amazing. They care about their patients and believe in treating the root cause of the issue. I never thought I would be relieved of the pain I felt for so long, it truly feels like I gained my life back.

I absolutely love this office. Everyone is so cool. They know your name when you come in the door which obviously makes you feel valued and Instantly comfortable. This is a one stop shop! They offer Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Accupuncture, Piezo Wave Technology, Plasma infusion treatment for rejuvenation, Trigger Point injections, Decompression, Massages, and more. All chiropractors are awesome. Doesn't really matter who you get they are all great with their own techniques. I look forward to every visit cause I leave feeling so much relief! I'm Glad that I'm getting my treatment at SOHMA, I got there with a bad lower back and shoulder pain,
SOHMA has great staff very friendly Michaela and victoria recived me the first day, Michaela gave me a tour around the shoma facilities explained the service they have to help each person get back to normal life without surgery, I started my Treatment with chiropractic Dr. Jayne chew about 3 months ago now that lower back pain is no longer bothering me anymore thanks to Dr chew, now im getting all the treatment for my shoulder P. R. P PIEZO, PHYSICAL THERAPY. Highly recommend SOHMA.
