Sol Cubano, North Highlands CA

So 1st off I am Cuban! My Momma is the best cook in the world! Well these guys brought me to tears the food is so dang Great! No joke, I had the Carne con papas and it was aaaaaaaawesome! I ordered 4 more meals to go and a Lechón Sandwich to go! Oh yeah and a box of Pastelitos for breakfast tomorrow! Oh my! Muchísimas gracias Hermanitos cubano, verdad que me da tanta alegría comer comida de Mi gente. Un fuerte Abrazo.

Food was dry and bland.
We were served on paper plates with plastic forks and paper cups. Didn't expect that.

I absolutely love this place. I used to come here years ago when I lived in the area. It was great to find that they are still open. It's the only Cuban place in town and it will not disappoint you.

Amazing! I miss Caribbean cuisine it's really hard to find out here and eating it made me feel like I was home again! Delicious, appropriately priced. Worth every penny!

I got the vegetarian plate. Rice, plantain, & salad. It was delicious! Looking forward to going back! The guava & cream cheese pastries were good. Not what I'm use to, but good. The yuca fries were also goo. The onion dip that comes with the yuca fries is a game changer! Amazing in the rice!

First time here, came with my Mom, she had a lechon sandwich and I had steak empanizado which was amazing! We shared an order of tostones de pollo, the chicken was juicy and tender. Also the hot sauce on the tables is really good, just a little kick. The guava and cheese pastries and empanadas are good too. Everything seemed fresh and everything had flavor, nothing is over seasoned everything is just right. Super friendly staff, very clean, reasonable prices

Sol Cubano is an unexpected and total DELIGHT! Very friendly greeting as we walked in. Felt like coming into a home, fresh, clean, cozy and lovely. We ordered the oxtail. So absolutely filled with flavor from the first uber-delicious bite to the very last of it! Never have I had such a comforting beefy, tender flavor filled oxtail as this! The rice with beans was just as amazing with a completely different array of mouth-watering goodness! Tostones were the sweetest, tender and had just the slightest crunch! Everything arrived fresh and steaming hot! Nobody does that anymore! Amazing accomplishment. Loved their chilie sauce on the table - which Mama Mia needs to be sold separately as take home. If all this wasn't enough enjoyment, then came the flan. I guessed it would be good. I was NOT prepared that it was actual perfection! I could eat it all day! If it were possible to give Sol Cubano 10 STARS it wouldn't be enough. Go get some NOW, before I buy all the Flan.

I use to come here during my college days. Things have changed a bit with covid in all in terms of how the business operates. It use to have such a vibrant feeling when you dine in but now, is more of a take out situation which definitely takes away. The food is still good.

Sol Cubano is hands down the best Cuban eaterie outside of Havana. The owners put in the work and provide amazing food and I have yet to have a mediocre meal. I Love Cuban food and going to Sol Cubano is a regular stop.

I love Cuban food and theirs is very good. Staff are efficient and eager to please. Only problems are distance from where I live, and sometimes they run out of some things.

I ordered the EMPANADAS. They had the PERFECT amount of greass. The meat filling was salted to perfection, dashed by the salt bae himself. The only thing that is salted better are the stuffed potatoes. The cumin was the best part, I wish they added more. It was so good, even if I got my order wrong I’d happily pay for a new one. Great custumer service. Will return again.

Great family owned Cuban spot! Food is delicious: Cubano, platanos, maduro, letcho.so much more is hard to find in Sac, glad we found this place. Large portions. Fair price. Restaurant is clean and service is fast

The green bananas were a bit like bland stale potato frankly. It may be an acquired taste. The ripe bananas fried were delicious however! The torta cubano was good but needed some sort of flavor added. A touch bland in general. The sausage was tasty though. Joe Caribe in Auburn is better. Give it a try if you like less salt and more flavor. Joe has housemade salsa to die for too.

My sister & coworker go here all the time after work. It's kinda one of those if you know you know places. One of the not many places in Sacramento, authentic places at that giving you that Caribbean/Afro-Latino experience. A true taste of Cuba. Everything and I mean everything here is delicious you can't go wrong. Fresh coconut, pastellitos, savory empenadas or some starters like yuca fries or plantaos maduros
