My solarEdge inverter failed in 8 months. They are sending a new one but I HAVE TO PAY FOR INSTALL! This is the worst company I have dealt with, I will highly recommend to avoid their products are go with Enphase or other more reliable products. Their customer service is really bad (You won't find a phone number to call on their website!).
The inverter was also hard to installl. It took my installer 2 days to get the wifi connection going and he had to call SolarEdge tech support multiple times.
I am now crossing my fingers and hope that the new one doesn't fail!

Lack of moral code Claiming nobody is home when retirees are always home is what you get from solar edge. Yes blame it on their contractors 3P. But it has been 3 months without service waiting to install 2 new inverters. Multiple phone calls emails and apparent texts is their guard. But no solar service and 2 inverter boxes in my dad's living room for past 3.months is the truth. They say gave him numbers. Online support is a loop to sales. Not a way of ethical practice

Initially I planned to give 1-star, but I changed to 5-stars exclusively due to the outstanding customer service provided by Sam L.in the customer satisfaction department. Our first year with solar was fantastic.a 92% reduction in our electric bill and went through about 3 power outages in comfort, while the rest of the neighborhood was in darkness.

The SolarEdge optimizers and inverter worked great, but then the inverter died. We went several weeks this summer with zero production. We were furious as prime production periods were lost, our installer was unresponsive and SolarEdge really had nobody to answer their phones. As the situation evolved, I had great success using the customer service email instead of telephone. I subsequently learned that it was our installer that failed to monitor the system and failed to follow-up on warranty service.

Once Sam L.was on the case, he went above and beyond to ensure our happiness and success. Sam spent LOTS of time getting a new inverter to us and making sure that we installed it correctly. Once again we have amazing production and are increasing our solar credit bank again. Sam also made sure that we can monitor our own system, so that this does not happen again.

For the SolarEdge admin folks, I would suggest try to hire more folks to answer the phone and make sure you acknowledge Sam for his valuable contributions to customer success!

In theory and on paper all looks great better than any other if there wasn’t a BUT.
We order March installed in September and go live November. App doesn’t provide timely information sometimes within seconds other times 4 hour last sync. Only seldom real time. Worse to come we got EV charging stations with from SolarEdge (even though there cheaper and better ones on the market) but had to buy them due to integration arguments. We wanted a System all integrated! They are all connected via a LAN. (No Wi-Fi in the garage.) you think we see them in the App? NO! Do you think we can control them when to charge car NO! Our installer has apparently opened in November a ticket in Israel (system is from there). They say it needs a software update! How long can that take? If we have that issue why don’t other hundreds of customer complain? So still waiting for some to take car of this to work of those issues. Than I will remove the post or change to 5 star. For now I wouldn’t buy for our other properties. Sad for customer no services
This was six month ago now September update: water heater still not connected; charging station still not programmable as it was sold to us. Tickets don’t get resolved still open. No communication from Installer. I assume Solar edge doesn’t support them either.

Very reliable, low maintenance. My electric bill is close to nothing. And summer has just begun!

I was having an issue with a solar panel not producing and they remotely went into my system, updated the firmware, identified the potential problem and sent me a transcript to provide my installer.

Reliable service. Can call and speak to a ‘real’ person. Occasionally site doesn’t show consumption but it is fixed within a day or two.

They have a stupid better app that does not work. Even the website does not work I cannot even see any of my system other than being 12 hours behind temperature being wrong and the system saying 0 kW. Per hour. They will not even let your customer have access to the program to change the settings to where it will actually work for the customer. I had a system installed by a g solar in springdale arkansas and tried to get them to take care of the situation but they could not even do anything either

Is great 90% of the time, the only annoying part is if something in the system needs to be reset or is not working properly it takes a week for someone to let you know. Meanwhile you have lost all that renewable energy.

UPDATE May 2023:
My system is finally working. After SolarEdge followed up with the installer (Vision Solar) and reviewed the work, it appears that the wiring was not installed properly. The system did start working, but 30% of my panels did not produce. It took yet another site visit to get the array fully functional.

There is now a better likelihood that the first inverter was not defective at all, and that fault lies with Vison Solar, and they attempted to shift blame. Due to this, I am going to change my review (still not 5 stars, as communication of status still was poor).

FIRST POST REVIEW: The inverter unit installed by my solar panel company turned out to be defective. According to Vision Solar, there was a whole run of problematic units that left SolarEdge, but it isn't known if you have a bad unit until it is installed and turned on. A replacement inverter was installed by the panel company. Apparently this one doesn't function either, and now am awaiting yet another service call to replace the replacement. After 17 months, I have yet to get a kilowatt out of my array.

All good until the inverter died. The replacement unit was sent out by SolarEdge, but my original installer wanted up front payment of $350 to swap the units. SolarEdge demands the installer file for reimbursement and won't pay customers directly. Now I've been trying to get the installer to claim reimbursement, but they say the system is a pain to work with, doesn't recognize their registered company and they're spending too much time trying to sort it out. I get to play telephone between SolarEdge and the installer. SolarEdge continues to refuse direct reimbursement to me. What a pain!

As a solar contractor, I have worked with numerous inverter manufacturers over the years, but SolarEdge Technologies Inc.has truly stood out as a leader in the industry. From their innovative technology to their exceptional customer service, SolarEdge has consistently exceeded my expectations.

One of the things I love most about SolarEdge is their commitment to developing cutting-edge technology that makes solar installations more efficient and effective. Their DC optimized inverter technology, for example, allows for greater power output and better system monitoring than traditional string inverters. This means that my clients are able to get more out of their solar systems and enjoy greater energy savings over the long-term.

But SolarEdge's commitment to excellence doesn't stop there. Their customer service is truly second to none. Whenever I have had questions or concerns about a particular installation, their team has been there to provide me with the support and guidance I need to ensure that everything runs smoothly. They are always responsive, professional, and friendly, and I know that I can count on them to help me deliver the best possible service to my customers.

Overall, I would highly recommend SolarEdge Technologies Inc.to any solar contractor looking for a reliable, innovative, and customer-focused inverter manufacturer. They are a true industry leader and a pleasure to work with.
