11I recently rented an apartment here at Somerfield at Lakeside. The manager Michelle M, was very knowledgeable, helpful, and communicative. She helped me through the entire process and was able to accommodate me pushing my move in date back. I am happy to be a new tenant if Somerfield. Thank you Michelle!
Martin is a fantastic repairman! Overall very satisfied with these apartments except that they won’t give me an air conditioner that actually keeps my apartment cool in the summer.
The look of the apartment was too mileading: has a clean office.
But, but.horrible office attendants. I can't emagine how neglectful an apartment management can be. Very rude as well.
Prices are too high when you first rent; and they ramp the prices up substantially as soon as the term ends. In addition, they have a mandatory $30 for trash pick up from outside of your apt, they call it "valet trash pick up".
They are inconsiderate of the COVID-19 economic hardship. They increased my rent by 8.4% (=$131) when the first lease term ended in June 2020. They didn't even bother to reply to my email. I am a medical professional and very well behaved renter.
I saw young people smoking in the green area in between the complexes. No one to say anything about it.
My vehicle was damaged twice while parked in its spot. There is no security camera inside the property to see what goes on around the property.
I almost lost an expensive mail package that was delivered to the office because they didn't even bother to check properly; it took me two months asking them to look for it; and finally they found it thrown into the back storage.
The manager never showed any respect to return calls and emsils.
This property should be avoid as long as you can find another community to go to.

Don’t be fooled by the beautiful cabinetry and floors.
This is one of the worst complexes I have ever seen.
I’ve lived here since December 2018, and it get worse and worse every month.
When I moved in my apartment was flooding in the living room. They repaired it saying it will never be a problem again. Now my bedroom is flooding.
They are slow about repairing things, I had my air conditioner break last year, and then this year during the heat wave there was a manufacturer defect and they ignored my complaints for weeks. Then they had a vendor come out, and it was in fact broken. Which took another three weeks to fix.
The stairs aren’t properly illuminated/light bulbs are old. I tripped down them and hurt my ankle.
My living room window has a crack in it, won’t properly open and is covered in mold. They told me it would take 4 weeks to replace it 12 weeks ago.
Michelle Michael and Larry are the new manager and maintence supervisior, and it’s primarily their fault. Also the manager above Michelle, Ashleen Aimes is also negligent.
Recently they increased their trash reimbursement to $50, water, sewer, trash, pest control, valet trash costs almost $200 for an adult and a child in a one bedroom. They are lying about only charging what the utility companies bill them. The previous management said they were over charging based on a formula. My first two months of living here were not utilities in arrears. They claim the utilities are two months behind yet when I moved in I was paying for them in real time.
Also they have one compost dumpster, but the valet living employee doesn’t collect compost.
Pest control is so bad here. I’ve had lots of roaches and spiders.
Also they don’t pick up their phones. I was on hold for over an hour last week and they hung up on me.
All in all stay away.
I had the greatest experience with the maintenance tech Martin. Upon passing by were talking about our day and I mentioned that my sink had a bit of leak. He took the initiative and submitted the work order for me. An hour later he showed up and was able to fix the leak. Martin is definitely the friendliest and most hardworking person on this property.

If I can give this place a zero or no stars I would. From the moment we moved in it has been nothing but a bad experience. Our apartment was never move in ready and everything was a mess when we first got here. We had to complain to upper management in order to get a lot of our new move in expected maintenance, that you think they would have ready for new tenants, done.
The next unfortunate event was our mailbox break ins. Several residences mailboxes were broken into, and management was in no hurry to fix the issue took them about a month and a half to put a new locks on SOME of the mailboxes. After they fixed my mailbox due to constant reminders and inquiries, I noticed that the mailboxes were compromise again for the second time. Then a third!
When addressing this with apartment complex management, they never replied to my concern of another possible break in. They have claimed to have filed A police report for the first incident. This has been an ongoing issue and many other tenants' mailboxes have been compromised for months.
The cameras don't work. When I suggested they have 24 hour surveillance, or at least a security person by the mailbox throughout the night, they completely ignored my suggestion.all they did was put a fake sign up stating they had surveillance, when in reality the cameras do not work. It has been such a disappointment with the way management runs this place and how little they care for their tenants.
Nothing but great interactions with the maintenance guy. He is very attentive to my needs and gets things done in a timely manner. He is very communicative and makes sures I am aware of any delays that may occur. This place is lucky to have an employee like Martin. I can't thank this man enough.
It's so bad. Flooring is messed up, blotchy paint. Bathrooms are super ugly, not a place I'd want my family seeing. Looks like all the money went into the leasing office
All of the staff members do everything to ensure that as tenants help us with any questions or concerns that we need
The maintenance person was terrific. The front office staff was horrible, they did not care that I had no ac for 5 days with my kids being home. I felt if they could make it take longer, they would do that. Worst customer service I have had in a long time.
The paint is blotchy, the color is way off and makes my bathroom look like a public restroom there is still mold all on the way that was just covered w paint I want it done correctly so my kids can stop getting sick from it
