Dessert Shop SomiSomi reviews
20Limited varieties but delicious dessert and friendly staff. No indoor seating, only a bench outside and is card only.
Freshly made taiyaki is nice and chewy on the inside with a light crisp on the outside. The best fillings are taro, cheddar cheese is actually pretty tasty. The batter itself isn't really sweet so it pairs well with the melty gooey cheese. And if you're looking for a less sweet filling the custard is a good option.
Good ice cream, good portions, decent prices. Very easy to order and the ice cream with custard filled fish pastry came out really fast
Horrible experience, there was only one worker and there were about 10 customers. My fish were undercooked, nothing but dough. I’m not sure if she did it on purpose, maybe she was over whelmed, or maybe she was new. But I do know that I threw 25 dollars in the trash. I won’t be coming back.
Thanks
I love the ice cream and tayakis here, and even when the worker spilled some of the filling inside the ah-boong i was happy because mistakes happen and it shows that the workers are allowed to sometimes make mistakes to learn.
Never just get the ice cream, get the ahboong with custard because it’s the least sweet and makes the ice cream pop.
Amazing cookies n cream! And definitely get the Nutella filling. A nice spot for soft serve.
Great treats. Why do you open at 3pm? I can understand winter. Summer time needs to be open earlier!
Gabby! Was helpful amazing and nice. Let us know the options we had to choose from. I had the upside-down taiyaki with the cookies and cream ube! Biscoff dust and Cap'n crunch dust on there! It was so good.
I've been to other locations & it's all been pleasant! 4 stars for the flavor/quality, 1 star for the unisex/unkempt restroom at this particular establishment.
A little over over priced for
Ice cream. Overall pretty yummy.
ITS a lot of ice cream
To much ice cream.
Portion sizes are huge.
You can get it with the waffle like fish and then you fill it with different things like Nutella they put that on top of the ice cream.
I love these desserts and I seem to always get one when I'm back home I'm california. The milk and matxha was great with the custard filling. Gotta have the custard.
3 Stars. Okay so the food is great! And while it’s not cheep or too reasonable it’s doable but where the 3 stars come from is that they got my order wrong for an expensive icecream. I mean it’s about 4 ingredients… It was my first time there so I was thinking that this didn’t feel right A person after me went for the same thing but his icecream looked how I imagined my tk be (they offer dual flavor icecreams for like a mix) So I ordered a mix but they only gave me one of the two flavors, they gave me a regular ice cream. Again tho, the food isn’t bad plus they look cute!
This was SO good, the service was fast, you got to watch them make it and it was delicious! I wish I had gotten more taiyaki to go, there are a bunch of fillings you can get. I can’t wait to go back, even if the line is long it’s worth it.
The food is decent, the soft serve and taiyaki a good at a moderate price of $6~$7.
The only problem was the favour combos.depending on the flavor, it could ruin the ice cream and your experience (as it did for mine) as the flavors like ube and matcha clashed; while milk and horchata mellowed eachother out.
All in all, great waffle and good iceream
Yum! Love a good soft serve and strawberry was a perfect match with a custard filled cone.
I love this place! Delicious ube soft serve with red bean filled taiyaki and coconut shaving on top.
Absolutely outstanding ice cream is to be found here. I ordered the ume ice cream with coconut flakes and was genuinely impressed. The interior is clean and modern, too. I can easily recommend this place.
The soft serve ice cream is so good and creamy. Not too sweet and they have different flavors of the week too.
Cute little shop. Menu was different than what I was expecting. I got the tayaki with custard (that flavor was meh.) and one with Nutella which I recommend! My brother got the one with the cheese and he liked it. They have a good selection of toppings and combos to make it different each time. Next time I want to try the taro as I heard that was good. Not sure about the red bean? But maybe worth a try. Parking is a little hard, we squeezed into a spot next to the ramen place next door. As we were leaving someone else was trying to get our spot. Line seemed a little long, however it moved quickly so don't get discouraged if it looks long. The girls working were friendly and helpful with all the questions I had.
