Campground Songdog Ranch reviews
16Very fun had the whole place to ourselves went in late November 2021 had a blast nice stack of firewood at your spot wating for you, owners where very nice and drove us to our spot cause we got there later in the day and was dark out. 10 out of 10
Went to the second annual skykamper event and wasn't impressed with the event or the campground. But for those looking for a clean campground, and needing cell service this is the place for you. But for those like me, that prefer camping off the grid and away from everyone, you might want to pass this one up.
This was THE coolest campsite I have ever been to! It is on top of a mountain and only has a single lane dirt road to the top so just keep that in mind when driving here. Amazing off-roading about 2 miles farther into the mountains. Jim was so sweet and very accommodating. He has soaker tubs that you can rent ($ based on size) to help with the heat ($20 for the single person). There were ZERO mosquitos/spiders/etc. I think I only saw one or two flies my entire stay. Almost every campsite has its own outhouse (non flushable) but clean, private and with toilet paper. Fire pits, table and potable water at each site. I was solo camping and felt very safe! Adorable ranch dogs too! I will ABSOLUTELY be back again!
Excellent venue! Well maintained, plenty of shade with those palapas. Actually nice outhouses. The best ones I've ever used!
And they even have rocking chairs on site to use. Not to mention those gorgeous views
Peaceful and quiet, with a great host and his helpers. Sunset is absolutely beautiful. The road is sand and gravel, so if you're on a cruiser take your time. There are flies, bees, ants, coyotes, and other wildlife, but that's to be expected in the middle of nowhere.
Santa Barbara Pistachio Company and Cuyama Buckhorn provide good food, and friendly service nearby.
Sadly, my bike was acting up on me so I left early. I would have gladly spent another night falling asleep under the stars there.
Third time here ️
One of the best campsites two hours from Los Angeles.
More than ten locations for any company from very small campsites to large ones with houses. There are also many medium options with and without berths.
Each location is uniquely decorated in its own way, but all have at least a plumbing, a grill, a table with benches under the roof, trash containers and a toilet.
All locations are at a distance, so you will never intersect with neighbors.
I prefer campsites on the hill, but campsites at the bottom have their advantages too.great place for sunrises and sunsets. At night you will have a clear starry sky.
Absolutely perfect place for a HipCamp experience. The owner and the dogs make you feel right at home! A+
Love this campground! Beautiful rolling hills, views of the valley (which the mountains have cool looking formations), night time is amazing with dark skies lit up with all the stars, the sites at this campground are far apart so that you feel like you’re out there by yourself, not too hot or cold during Spring, speaking of Spring, all the wild flowers were blooming.
Awesome campsite /w potable water and fire pits. Lovely dogs. Close to OHV trails.
You need to go prepared. Because there is no nearby market or etc.
Very nice high desert camping with juniper trees and beautiful views.sites spread well apart from each other. Jim, the host, is a super nice guy as well.
This place is so lovely! The owners are kind, creative, and hospitable. They were responsive and our boys loved the dogs. Definitely recommend!
My husband and I have been going to SONGDOG
Since 1992. We both ride and usually started out from Pescadero, CA
I want to give this destination 10 Stars.
High milage Sport Touring perfect destination!
Beautiful location right if the 33. Our host Jim is awesome full of helpful info. Looking forward to another great night of glorious views and peace and quiet. Highly recommend.
Great pet friendly location.each site has an outhouse, potable water, covered picnic table and a firepit.some sites are more remote and not all are listed on hipcamp (i think they are adding new ones.the one we stayed at looked like it has just been finished)
We were lucky to be there during the height of the pandemic. Very few people were out there with their ATVs so it was very peaceful. Jim is an awesome host. The property is amazing. We camped perched on top of a 200 foot plateau with an exceptional view of the valley.
Well worth it. Look it up on hip camp.
