Sonora Cantina reviews
15Fun place but small. Bar is right at the front door entry so you can orders drinks while waiting to be called. We waited about 30 min. If it weren't cold/snowy patio would have been nice to sit. Abondigas soup was delish and margaritas were strong. Worth the price. We'll be coming back again.
EXCELLENT! OUTSTANDING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
ME & MY DAUGHTER MOVED HERE FROM ORANGE COUNTY. THIS RESTAURANT COMPARES TO EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS IN OC. BELIEVE ME FOR BIG BEAR LAKE, THIS MEXICAN RESTAURANT IS TOP IN FOOD, QUALITY, DECOR, AFFORDABILITY.
ME & MY DAUGHTER CAME IN LAST TURSDAY. ORDERED FROM ALL DAY TUESDAY MENU - GLASS OF PINOT GRIGIO, MARGARITA ON ROCKS (FULL SIZE GLASSES OF ALCOHOL BROUGHT TO OUR TABLE TOO, NOT SKIMPY) + FULL SIZE SPRITE, 2 TACOS + 2 ENCHILADAS = TOTAL OF BILL WAS ONLY $23.00.
GREAT PRICES ALL DAY TUESDAY MENU. FOOD SO GOOD AND CHEAP. NICELY PLATED. BOOTHS & INTERIOR BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED. LARGE, COMFORTABLE BOOTHS AND RESTAURANT. LARGE TV'S. WAITRESS PROFESSIONAL & FAST.
A+, very authentic. Great good. Unfortunately had to drive down the mountain but those margarittas looked superb.
Churros were several days old and the nachos where drenched in soggy pork and cheese. Felt bad leaving most of the food uneaten. Worst “Mexican” food I’ve had. Not sure if it’s worst that they serve such poor quality food or people are willing to eat this.
I'm giving this spot a 5 star review because their Micheladas and Margaritas are pretty good, and the food is really tasty as well, got the camarones a la diabla and that sauce is spicy as it should be.the green swiss enchiladas are also really good.definitely coming here anytime I'm back here in Big Bear.
Best Mexican food in Big Bear. Ample vegan options. Great atmosphere inside, outside interest is lacking but don’t be deterred. We love the happy hour!
I came across this restaurant after looking for a good Mexican restaurant on the web. The place itself is pretty small and wait time for my party of 15 was about 30 min. The food was actually very good. I had a torta de carnitas and the meat was so soft and juicy. It came with fries and the fries were crispy but soft. The kids liked their food as well. I would back come here another time
The food was good and the service was good. Food took a little while to come out and the drink mix was unbalanced.
Service is quick, food and drinks are absolutely delicious! Friendly staff, too! Will definitely be back.
This place never disappoints with their food and portions/price for whatever you order!
This is one of the places I tend to revisit for dinner when I'm in town.
Bad host. Manager in charge during that time was no help. Food was flavorless. Asked for hot sauce for taste and it was watered-down no taste. Food was cold. 3 stars due to Great customer service from our waiter.
Stopped by for breakfast. One of my favorite Mexican food stops in Big Bear. The food tastes great and service is always excellent.
My wife and I have been going up to Big Bear from Apple Valley for 20 years almost bi-monthly. For some reason we always ended up eating at the village area all the time. Went up on a Friday night and it was super busy with an hour wait at most places in the village. So we gave Sonora Cantina a try and we were hope for the best. Beyond happy with the service and the food is great. The prices are not insane. We will definitely be back.
Busy place but had remarkable great service. Delicious shrimp salad with a coke. Yummi it was a great place to eat and relax after some snow play and a tour around the new zoo
Make sure to check out the combo meal! I got the tamales with rice and beans, and it was absolutely delicious
