Sonoritas Prime Tacos, Los Angeles CA

It is one of the best Lengua tacos I have had in a restaurant. Highly recommend. The filet mignon tacos and birria were outstanding as well. Pet friendly in the patio. They gave my pupper water.

We got the taco sampler, we thought all the tacos were great but I especially liked the Al pastor. The Elote/street corn tasted great and felt like a good portion for two. Their seasoned chips were crisp but okay for the most part the salsa was okay.

Food is really good. Food deserves 5 stars. We especially liked the birria tacos, the ribeye fajitas & the enchiladas. Nice drink menu too.

What is not 5 stars: the service & the organization. I'm sure it's fine at off hours but with their setup and the number of people working there they just can't handle being busy. Servers are busy doing three things and they don't come check to see what else you need. Happens once, could be a fluke but it's happened every time we've been. Seems to be part of the design. But again, probably fine during off hours. Also might be better if you're sitting inside as opposed to outside in the patio.

This place does the thing, that unfortunately is becoming a trend, where you order outside before sitting. Places do this to streamline the process - you spend less time in the seats, they can get more people through and they, in theory, can operate with fewer people. This isn't so bad except you're charging $19 for 3 tacos (it was $12 not too long ago) and asking us to pay and tip (tips are for good service right?) before anybody sits down.

Food is really good tho.

Food is exceptional. SUPER filling so come hungry. Service is usually pretty fast since it’s not as packed as the other places in Sawtelle. Atmosphere is decent. Nice interior and outside patio with a casual, laidback vibe. Parking is in the back.

Talk of hidden gems - this little place is fantastic! Absolutely loved the food here.
The fresh guac and house made tortilla chips were so, so good.
Loved the shrimp fajitas and the tacos all went down really well with the others.

Do I recommend this place? Yes.

Best tacos i've ever ate. Top quality ingredients are used for the Tacos. Every component of the taco is cooked to perfection. Definitely coming back!

This is literally the best burrito I have ever had. I recommend this place to anyone traveling through LA.

Order first, pay upfront, then sit and get your food. The prime sampler is outstanding. Great tacos!

A $25 fancy Chipotle burrito. Not even close to worth the price. Lacking in flavor and spice and didn't even include salsa so I could remedy the problem.

Tried their Mar Y Tierra Burrito with quinoa. Its excellent, pricey but its one of the best Burritos I have eaten. If I'm ever in the mood for a cheat day splurge I'll probably order it again.

Do not worry, I was taking the photos because your tacos are by far the most delicious and wanted to share this time! Shrimp and filet mignon are my favorites! A bit pricey but worth it.

I had a very good burrito (for me) a surf and turf (beef and shrimp) with some rice &refried beans and a healthy amount of guacamole. The protein had a wonderful mesquite flavor. Very tasty. Also had a bottle pacifico (I believe they just have bottle beers no draft.) And of course margaritas. I had the passion fruit. Tasty not super big and not super sweet. A mild beverage you could drink all day. Did come in a tall Collins glass not a magaurite glass. Think of a standard water / soda glass. Other margaritas were served in your standard margarita glass. Why not mine? Hhhhhmmmm.

Anyway, order at the front they give you a number and you go pick a seat. Small patio in front and a small indoor seating. Card or Cash. Very quick.
Parking behind the building. It was free when I showed up but time limit and only for the building. When I left a dude and a little lectern showed up.

We had the popular mar y Tierra burrito and I have to say it was only decent. Not super flavorful. The meat was too salty and I don’t even remember the flavor of anything else in it. Lovely service and atmosphere. There are probably better things to order.

There is a good chance what I just had was the best burrito in the world.
They stays true to the authentic flavor and it’s cooked to perfection.
I would eat this burrito if I only had to eat one burrito for the rest of my days.

The Mar Y Tierra burrito is the best burrito I’ve ever had. Everything at Sonoritas is delicious, fresh, and bursting with flavour. The burrito is packed with really juicy prime steak and shrimp while still holding together and being easy to eat. The ribeye and short rib tacos are also fantastic. Worth every penny; I’ll be back for many more delicious meals.

Been coming here for years. Food quality has gone down hill. $22 for a shrimp & steak burrito for barely any guac or meat in it. Was disappointed.

Ok spot for your Mexican food cravings.

I opted for the Carne Asada Burrito ($16.95) and a Tijuana Carne Asada Taco ($4.95). The taco itself was pretty price for what it was. Meat was cooked well. The only gripe that I had with the burrito was that it had mayo inside of it. It seemed to have sunk to the bottom, so my last few bites were definitely mayo heavy.

I had ordered for takeout in person. Took awhile to come out. For the most part I was waiting outside, and staff didn't hand it to me directly when it was done.

Delicious amazing burritos, great drinks. Nice little patio and inside dining and the staff is so friendly and nice.

The food was really good and they were very nice. Their food had a lot of flavor and my toddler is usually very pick, but she actually ate her chicken plate we got for her.
