Southern California Institute: Stern Mark S MD reviews
8This doctor had seen my mother after a referral for an ongoing neck issue she has been dealing with with multiple symptoms still unexplained. She saw Mark Stern and the end result was he prescribed my mom a anti seizure medication and to disregard her previously prescribed med. He prescribed her to take it without explaining what it was for. She has had ZERO history of seizures or anything close to seizures! Her first night of taking it she had a severe reaction where she was taken to the ER by ambulance. Extreme dizziness, loss of eye sight, difficulty of breathing. She was in the hospital for 1.5 days before being released. Multiple people reached out to this office, the referring neurologist reached out and they’re received no call back either. Horrible excuse of doctor and office to not even care to respond and explain why a anti seizure medication would be prescribed to someone not having seizures, instead who came to his office because her cervical spine issue. May God have mercy on this place, may they realize his and their actions affect lives.
Very disappointing, I will definitely be seeking a second opinion. It’s a big NO for me with stern
The Doctor will have 2 minute conversation with you about a back surgery while texting on his phone and then will leave. My father has had Scoliosis for a couple of years which causes him extreme pain. I have seen it and my family has seen it. Well apparently the Doctor says theirs nothing wrong with him and he can work as a regular person. The staff at the front desk also argued with my dad in a really rude way that he is fine and that theirs nothing wrong with his back. I don't think that's up the the front desk staff to be saying those things to patients seeking for help. All of this started after my dad refused a back surgery, but what would you say if the doctor explained it in a 2 minute conversation while texting and then walked out. I highly recommend to seek for another surgeon!
Disappointment starting with people who work at the reception even with the doctor.the people there are very rude
I was very disappointed in Mr. Stern I have been in so much pain for 8 years from hip revision that I now have sciatic nerve damage from. He dismissed my pain asking me how old I was and how much I weighed after my second daughter was born, I told him 20 yrs old now I am 54. He told me to lose weight get to the weight I was after I gave birth.wth does that have to do with my sciatic nerve damage, L5-S1 bulging disc and bulging disc in my neck I also told him I have done multiply injections, radiofrequency Neurotomy, physical therapy. Yes I do believe keeping weight down would help he also told me to stay away from carbs like little kid which I already do.horrible doctor in my opinion don't waste your time
I actually love Dr Stern he’s blunt and he gets right to the point, I had next surgery back in March I’m doing very well my neck feels brand new. Now he is helping me with some neuropathy, very good doctor! He is the best. Love the girls in the office.very helpful
Dr. Mark Stern is a great doctor and in my latest visit he was very nice and honest with me.
Dr. Berman is incredible. A great attitude and an incredible surgeon. Before surgery I couldn't walk or stand without incredible pain in my hips and legs. After the l lif procedure, I feel great, I can walk and stand without pain for the first time in years. I can't thank him enough
