Southern California Logistics Airport

I am fascinated by aviation. This airport has it all. Relics, regeneration, repurposing. Airliners, cargo aircraft.

The first thing I noticed at this airport is the terminal. Where is it? I got smacked upside the head when I asked around. It was just a question, but I got assaulted by some person there. The staff is violent. The planes just stay parked all day. How am I ever going to get to where I'm trying to go from here? I gotta get to the bottom of this mystery someday.

Went to the VVC location on Saber road. Very quiet between classes. Very windy day.

If you live in the High Desert like I do and have for any length of time chances are you've been to this airport in the past when it was George Air Force Base and now since it's been the Logistics Airport. The number of retired planes here is staggering and the whole place is interesting and worth the trip if you're in the area.

This airfield isn't a tourist attraction. ComAv Technical Services provide aircraft storage facilities and parts reclamation to the major global airlines for their end of lease or life aircraft. Distant views of the inhabitants are possible from the south side and those who are brave enough can explore the fence line along the west side. However, beware. If your vehicle gets caught in the sand it could be a long wait for a tow out; remember the vehicle recovery firm has to find you first in the back of beyond.
