Southland Heating and Air Conditioning, Valencia CA

We used Southland for an installation of a new HVAC system in 2018. Since then, we've had a bad experience with their maintenance plan. They are very disorganized and do not follow up or proactively reach out to schedule maintenance appointments.

Recently, we had 2 maintenance appointments cancel with less than 24 hours notice and that pushed back our maintenance by at least 1 month. Because it was not serviced, we had to call another company to come do an emergency service call because the unit was so dirty it would not come back on. (Even their "emergency" service was only available 1 week out)

When I call Southland and told them because of the cancellations and subsequent damage to the unit, we incurred a cost of $600, they would not give any discount if we renewed our service plan. In fact, the person on the phone was quite rude and just kept repeating the price of their plan while barely acknowledging they had cancelled 2 regular maintenance appointments previously, which caused this problem. I understand companies are swamped when there is a heat wave. That is understandable. What is not acceptable is having regular maintenance appts cancelled twice with barely any notice and then talked to on the phone rudely when I expressed my frustration. We were not asking for anything beyond what is normal and although they say they care publicly, my experience has shown otherwise.

Now we are going to go with another company for service because they are not reliable. Pretty short-sighted on their part. Other companies I have checked with in LA have much more availability than Southland.

Super helpful, reasonably priced, and they go above and beyond to help the customer. Thanks Southland!

We have used Southland for our personal home and always had great experience with them. This is the first time we used for a rental property we have. We just needed a maintenance check and a new Nest thermostat installed. The first scheduled date for this service, Southland canceled as I was waiting for them to arrive. We rescheduled for a few days later and Robert Alfonso, the tech, was very helpful and professional. I would definitely use again.:)

**UPDATE** They serviced my heat this morning yay! The tech named Michael was very nice and did a good job. I adjusted the star rating for this review.

This review is for the maintenance only. I've been trying to get them to do routine maintenance on my heater, but they always cancel. They just cancelled the night before on me again. I've been very polite about it, but I'm worried about my warranty being voided for not doing the agreed upon maintenance. It's spring and they still aren't here. They currently have another appointment (this will be the fourth) scheduled with me In a few days. Hopefully they show up.

Robert came over to find out what the problem with our heating system was. He diagnosed it correctly then ended up getting the job done for even less than we expected. Southland Heating and Air Conditioning will be my go to business forever!

Robert was great. Did some quick troubleshooting and cleared the error on all my Fujitsu units. The problem was solved same day that I called for service. Reliable service that I can always trust.

This was the most pleasant and rewarding experience I have had in years with a Home Repair representative. He was prompt, clear about the issue, a consummate professional and he resolved my problem expiditiously. I will use this company in the future for any and all of my HVAC needs. Thanks!

Great Customer Service! Robert was very courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. Additionally, he was very patient with answering my questions. He was respectful of my property, it rained, needless to say it was wet outside. He made sure to take time to wipe his feet before entering our home without me asking him to do so.

I've been using Southland for about 6 years or so. They are responsive. Most importantly, the technicians know what they are doing. Haven't had a bad one yet. They explain what's going on very well. They are not cheap, but I haven't found anyone better.

I required an urgent quote to have my HVAC system evaluated due to obvious water damage to my interior walls below the unit Southland sent out Michael much sooner than anticipated. Michael was extremely professional and thorough. I anticipate the repair will be completed with the same thoroughness.

Christopher was great! He was on time, explained what he was going to do, showed me results, was extremely neat and clean, didn’t mind my large dog at all and answered all of my questions. I’m confident my system is being well taken care of.

Technician Jose checked HVAC, installed new filter and explained why I received error message when turning on the heat for the first time in more than 6 months. He made sure that the heating system worked properly. Courteous and professional.

Southland are a very professional and trustworthy company. I recommend the engineer mr Hernandez who came to our house. Was quick, efficient and careful and polite. We will request him for our next visit.
