Space Shuttle Endeavour reviews
16The words awesome and awestruck tend to be thrown around a lot nowadays. Coming to the California science center and being able to see the Endeavor left me awestruck in the truest sense of the word.
Endeavor was beautiful. There were also lots of plaques to read about the timeline of all the shuttles. So very glad I stopped by to see this.
Very interesting and interactive museum. Suitable for kids and adults all together. The entrance is free. Highly recommended!
Went to the science center with the intention of paying to see the shuttle, but it was free the day we went, so that was nice. The space shuttle is a must see. When you see it in person it is so grand and impressive, a true piece of history. The staff is friendly and informative. In a few years they're going to move it to a new position that is going to have it sit vertically. I mention this because I feel you can get closer to it now while it is positioned horizontally. Definitely check this out
Really amazing to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor up close! It's obviously quite massive, and the space in which it is held fits it perfectly. The museum exhibition provides very detailed information about the Space Shuttle, and one could spend quite a while reading it all.
The last remaining Space Shuttle, housed in a temporary museum, is still an impressive sight although the mating with the huge external tank (to be seen outside) is still some years in the future.
Nice and affordable daytrip. When they finish all the Endeavor project it will be even more amazing.
One of the greatest experience I had in Los Angeles area. I highly recommend to All people who are a bit interested in space and NASA, ESA. You can also see a moon rock and authentic landing capsules from different space missions. Entry fee only 3$, however parking was around 12$. But as mentioned, it's worth it. If you have more time, other exhibitions are available sa well.
Very interesting to see the shuttle Endeavour physically and learn about outer space. Can learn a lot of space trip that explored by NASA with many shuttles.
The shuttle is amazing! Also love the brief history of the shuttle program around the edge of the room. Can't wait to see it again someday in is new home once it's done.
It is an incredible site, and it is cool to be able to get so close to such a large spacecraft. It really puts spaceflight into scale. Definitely worth the 3$, and I look forward to the renovated building.
There are shuttles in NY, D. C.and FL as well (2 were lost over the years). It's really cool to see in person if you used to watch these things go up on TV.
Wow! Wow! And even more Wow! This things been into outer space! Wow!
Now I've come back to earth.
The science museum is free to go in, but you do need a $2 ticket from the booths outside (or a ticket to another paid exhibition which will allow you in free). It is well worth the miniscule charge. To be up and close, and although forbidden, close enough to touch! If you're in South LA, do make sure you see Endeavour!
I touched the yellow part cuz I didn't know it was off limits when I was a kid. Brought back nice mems.
I knew that the Space Shuttle was *big*, but whoa, you actually need to see it to appreciate its size. There's also a cool exhibit that you can look at before going to see the Shuttle itself, which shows a bunch of interesting information about it. Also, it's cheap as heck — like, $4? Worth more than the admission price.
Last and newest of the Space Shuttles. The temporary pavilion is clearly less than what the full stack is going to be, yet it's still worth a visit, even if you've seen the other Space Shuttles at the Smithsonian or Kennedy Space Center.
